If its your first, spend a little more, steer away from wasr-10, not that they are bad guns, just there are better ones out there too. I think a underfolding yugo might be fun and stylish, and there are other models too.

I have two wasrs, but my sar-1 and sar-2 have better finishes. The chinese and egyptians seem to have better fcg's but both are in a sporter configuration. You can get almost anything there I imagine, you could even get a nice kit and build your own with either a flat or a receiver(if you are just wanting one, a receiver might be the way to go, or if anyone there has 80% ones) I still kick my self for not getting a underfolding polish kit.

Just my opnion heck there I imagine you could even find a FA model there but those are big bucks( a friend of mine has a chinese one and its seven thousand)

Went to the KC machine gun shoot last weekend (13th) and bought a WASR 10. I never really liked AKs till I picked up this one. It just had a good feel to it and plus the reciever wasn't made be CAI, it is original Romanian.Yes the inside has been modified to accept the double stack mags but it functions great (a little side to side movement of the mag/magwell) feeds/great. For $329 I think this was a really good price. I looked at the Yugos (reall nice too) but they where a lot more pricey. Word going around at the shoot was that since the BATF stopped part kits from coming into the US that these are the last months of AKs being under $500. CAI had a booth sat up at the shoot and one of the workers said they still had alot of AK kits to work with but alot of them they would not assemble because of wear. Oh by the way Iam an old member of the Cetme site (Ackack) just a new name for this site. And now I seem to be hooked on this WASR 10 I bought, I think Im going to buy one more just to trick out with a folding stock/forward grip ,ect.
