The cheapest .308 I could find that worked in my Cetme were the Brown Bear and Silver Bear lines of ammo.
All of the places that had those are sold out.
Anybody know of anywhere that sells any cheap .308?
Not just Nato, but steel cased commie ammo aswell?

You must consider that 'cheapness' these days means at least 50 cents/rnd, If you get lucky.
Clean the fluted chamber in your Cetme 2X after shooting that laquered steel case stuff.
Good luck, happy hunting...

They only cheap stuff is "roll your own" and components have gotten out of hand lately. Using my own cast bullet w/gas check, I can load a round for less than $.20. If I use a commercial 147 FMJ (when you can find em) it costs me about $.34 each.
Of course you have to scrounge for "free" brass. I have been scrounging for over 20 years and have a nice supply on hand (4000-5000).

The cheapest ammo that you'll find is to go to gun shows, and look for the irregular sellers. Like the guys that dont really have a business, they just dug up stuff from their basement, or a relative dies and they got a sh1t load of gun accessories and just want to unload it all for cash.
Thats where I've made some of my best scores. I bought about 600 rnds of german 308 for $5 per box from one guy a few months ago and he was happy as hell to sell it.
