So what's the verdict on Pakistani surplus ammo? I've heard that it's not that great, but I haven't heard horror stories about it like Inidian ammo either. I see that pakistani ammo along with indian ammo is about all that is consistently left to buy, which makes me suspicious of it.

Ammo 4 guns has 400 rds for $130 and I was thinking about purchasing a can of it. They say the ammo is non-corrosive for whatever thats worth. I'm not looking for ammo that is super accurate. I just want something to shoot away with (rapid fire, etc.). I'm just don't want to not get stuck with something that doesn't go bang or is dangerous to be running through my cetme. Any feedback from anyone who has had experience with pakistani surplus is appreciated.

Ouch, That used to be more than the price of 1k, but the supply is slim out there, read this link.

All the paki ammo ive shot so far has worked just fine for me. cleaner than the wolf ammo I used to shoot. If I had a chance to buy more (especially at the price I got it at) I would do it in a heartbeat

Paki is just fine in mine. They all went bang and killed whatever I aimed at. Works for me. :)

+1 for paki. would do "business" with again. :)

I bought 1000 rounds of Paki from AIM, and the only issue I had with it was some corroded casings due to improper storage. All the rest was very good shooting amo.

Check the casings before loading, just like any other ammo.

It's decent ammo, their qual-control is pretty good, as it's all supposed to be destined for their M-guns, so it's pretty reliable. I got a whole case, original steel box, and it was a pain to open, but the packaging was good for the 20 rounders. All in all, worth the money I spent on it.

But why 32 rounds in a box?

That's a good question. Since it's 303, and it'd probably be for an Enfield... maybe three loads worth with two spare rounds to replace any duds?

I was on the Century website and they appear to have .303 Pakistani Ball for 175.00 for 768 rounds. It would make good plinking ammo.

Will .303 ammo work in a rifle that's chambered for .308?

Ahh... no. Take my word, just don't try it.

Will .303 ammo work in a rifle that's chambered for .308?

Reasons why it will not work:

1. Bullet diameter, .308 is just that, .308", while .303 is .310"-.312"
2. .303 has rimmed case head, the .308 does not.
3. Case capacity and shape are very different, as well as case overall length and will not chamber.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE PUT .308 IN A .303 RIFLE OR VICE VERSA!!!!!!
HUGE KABOOM WILL RESULT!!!!!!!

I was wondering how this went from what I thought was 308 to 303 then back to 303. Somewhere in there I got lost, right? :):slap:

All the three boxes of the case I bought were great. No corrosion and function with great accuracy!

The orginal post was for 308 then some one mentioned aim and 303 thus we are kinda of discussing two different rounds from POF.

Looking at the rounds, they are anneled, thus for automatic rifle or atleast should run thur a machine gun. Three boxes,(96 rounds) will almost fill a belt, and you have a harder time makeing a 33 round box. Just a thought on that.
