WTS: Custom made 3-point slings made to order for ANY rifle! Base price as shown on the Cetme is $35 shipped to your door.
If you want some extra stuff done, just let me know what exactly you want, and I'll be very reasonable with the pricing of add-ons.
again, these are custom, made to order. Ive posted some good ideas of how to configure it that work well for my applications, but you may have different ideas of how to install them.
Here are some photos of everything assembled on my rifle. The original design was for an AR-15 that had 2 big loops on each end that were awkward on the cetme, so I came up with this and it fits nicely and operates better than my HK 3-point.. and its more comfortable with a 1.5" shoulder strap.
This is the rifle with the buckle fastened...
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/jfowl31/clippedbig.jpg
This is the rifle with the buckle unclipped... this allows you to shoot prone without unslinging the rifle, and also can allow you to shoot off your left shoulder if the need arises for some reason... This feature is really what I think is the best feature of the sling. There has been many times that Ive been walking a fence line and had some hogs walk out across the field, and I had to drop to prone very quickly for a shot.
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/jfowl31/unclippedbig.jpg
This is the way it attaches to the rear... you'll need to tell me on ordering whether you use a cheekpiece or not as it will effect where the stirrup gets sewn on the strap. Once tightened down, its rock solid on the back end.
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/jfowl31/greenonAR.jpg
This is the rigging up front... there's 2 clips on the sling. One is to lengthen it quickly to shoot prone, and the other is to drop the rifle completely, to quickly disarm. Its also fully adjustable for length. Im a big guy at 6'3" 215 lbs, and its PLENTY long enough for me, and can be adjusted back for a friend of mine who is abou 5'7" 150 lbs.
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/jfowl31/frontrigging.jpg
And... this is how the rifle can look slung in regular 3-point style. You can put it over your left shoulder and neck, and carry it on the left side... it can be carried on your right hip, or you can carry it backpack style as well... and if you arent feeling tactical, you can keep it all together and carry it like a normal sling (purse style as I call it).
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/jfowl31/leftsidebig.jpg
I can take more pics of the different styles of carry if anyone wants them.
Here's another way that it can be put together... I did a couple of these for Nalioth. If you want 1 or more in this way, they are $38 for 1 and $71 for 2 shipped to you. For these, they get HK snaps on each end, instead of the "stirrup" on the back... this way you can unsnap it when you want, and snap it onto a different rifle. I took pictures of just the bare sling and how it attaches, and hopefully Nalioth will take some pictures of the sling attached to all sorts of different rifles. The reason for the extra cost is for the extra cost in materials. I do the stirrup for free with left over materials

paypal (to my e-mail address), MO, PMO, personal checks (held til clear), cash are all accepted, and I will trade as well for ammo... not sure how much... it really depends on what kind of ammo you have.
e-mail address is jfowl31@gmail.com
or just shoot me a pm on the boards
Oh forgot to mention... color choices... are black, khaki, OD green, or navy blue... They also have camo strap for the 1" pieces, and pictures of all the colors are here: http://www.strapworks.com/Articles.asp?ID=119. The other 4 colors are very traditional colors, and definitely look military... not bright green or baby blue or anything.
feel free to pm me with any questions or comments...
I will also assemble slings for AR's or other rifles or just assemble them the way the kit says to assemble them, and sew all the loose ends if anyone wants that done. Let me know what kind of rifle its for, and you specifications of how it will be mounted, and I'll make it up for you.
Jordan
p.s. coming soon... custom painted woodland camo G3 furniture... gotta get some time to do it though. Just planting a bug.
ETA...
Ive come up with some alternate attachment ways for the rear... If youd rather have this than the original design, let me know... no extra charge for the plastic swivel clip in the rear. I go into more detail on this design on page 3 for those who want more info about it.
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/jfowl31/swivel1.jpg
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/jfowl31/swivel2.jpg
If you want anything custom done as far as how it will attach, just let me know what youre looking for, and Ill be reasonable with pricing if its extra work... if its not extra work, and no extra materials, I wont charge you more. They're all made to order!
thanks again,
Jordan
also can do slings in all 1.5" webbing if you would like for $38. I think the 1" works fine for the attachment pieces, but if you want 1.5" to keep it consistent, this can be done as well.
Thanks for looking!

Patria Povo... Its actually not very southpaw friendly...
With the front sling clip up front being on the left side, when you pull it up to shoot, the sling goes right across the sight path, and you cant see your front sight. If I were to attach it to the right side, the other part of the sling would cover the ejection port with the way I have it set up right now.
I think it COULD work with it in the original configuration because the big loops that they tell you to make elevates the sling a little bit above the rifle so that the sling MIGHT not cover the ejection port, but Im not sure.
I have an extra one that is just assembled normally, and Ill try it tonight an see how it shoulders and everything.
and... if you thought it was left hand friendly becuase of that one pic... it was taken in a mirror...

You're saying just make it the same way except for the stirrup in the rear?
I could do that... I dont have one of the Cetme keepers on hand though... If you have a source for one, or want to ship me one, Ill put it on there. It should work fine, but with it coming out the side in the rear rather than on top it wont be "quite" as comfortable... at least thats my opinion. But, with that said, the HK 3-point mounts on the side as well, and I was never really uncomfortabe with that, but the new sling I have now is definitely more comfortable since its a wider strap, and the rifle hangs perfectly with both mount points being on the top.
But I could pretty much custom make these for any style of rifle if you'd like.
Nalioth is having me make one that has the HK snap on both ends, so he can just make adaptors, or use adaptors that he has and swap the 1 sling back and forth to any rifle he wants.
With the way these are designed with the coupling up front, the attachment point to the stock is eliminated obviously, which I think is a good thing.
Post me a pic of the cetme sling keeper because I dont have one on hand. I DO have an HK keeper here... just the little button you know...
Will the cetme keeper need to be sewed on, or is it something that if I just left a length of 1" strap off the back side that you could attach the keeper and detach it whenever you want. I guess I need to see that keeper in action (some pics maybe jfowl31@gmail.com ) to understand just exactly what to do on the back side, but I dont think it would be a problem to figure it out.
jfowl31
04-12-2007, 06:46 PM
I should also point out that the sling I did is the bare minimum of sewing. I had planned to, and Nalioth pointed out as well that I should do a "box and X" in all the connection spots for a stronger hold and longer life. So everywhere you see mine sewn with just 2 lines or the diagonal lin, there will be a square and X to attach the nylon.

When you order, make sure to let me know what color you want. Hang on a sec, and Ill post what the camo nylon looks like, and what all the other colors look like as well... the camo is not my favorite, but it may appeal to some... actually it may even look cool on my rifle what with the paint job and all.

Sorry guys, just checked again, and they only have the camo in the 1" webbing, not the 1.5".
The 2 pictures of the Cetme on the rug represent the color of the OD very well...
The site wont let me save their images so I can upload them here... something about copyrighted images.
Here's a link to the colors http://www.strapworks.com/Articles.asp?ID=119
again, the colors choices for this package is Black, Khaki, Navy Blue, and Olive Drab. Those are the colors for the 1.5" webbing.
If by chance someone wants to have the camo webbing for the 1", that can be done as well.

Yeh, that looks very Southpaw-friendly! I am tempted ....
I tried a bunch of different ways to configure it, and couldnt shoulder it lefty and see my sights... Then, just when I think Ive got it figured out, and get it to where I can see the sights, I look down, and one of the traps is going right in front of the ejection port! Man it must suck to be lefty!
Ill keep messing with it as time progresses, and see if I can make some "risers" that will make it so I can mount it on the ejection side, but have all the straps above the ejection port. Ill get back with you as I try to figger it out.

To the guys who purchased already... I don't exactly know what happened, but with the company who sells the kits, I placed my order last Sunday, and somehow it didn't go through or paypal messed up or something... basically, the money never got sent, so my slings never got sent. I resent it today, and they will be here shortly.
Sorry for the extra few days wait... I really don't quite understand how it happened. I'll have them out to you as soon as they get here.
Thanks for understanding..... and my apologies again.

I made 2 slings in a little different configuration for Nalioth that I hope he will post pictures of once he gets them... If you want them in the same fashion as his, it will be few few extra bucks because of the extra cost in materials...
$38 shipped for one in Nalioth's style with HK snaps on both ends... Im getting some pictures right now of what his looks like, and the others that are now done as well before i ship them off.

I'm working up a couple variations right now for my incomplete AR... I'll post some more pics once I get the upper in to take some pictures.
Basically, its mostly the same as pictured, but in the rear, on the stirrup is a D-ring, and the sling attaches by a clip that swivels so the sling never gets bound up, and in front is another attachment point that on mine will go around the FF tube, under my bipod, and it also has a D-ring on it that the HK snap attaches to. Its pretty slick... much like what Nalioth ordered up, except for the swiveling clip in the rear rather than 2 HK snaps.
I can get a picture of how it attaches in the rear now, but the front will have to wait as Im not sure if Ill be please with how I have it now. I think it will work perfectly, but since I dont have it here in front of me, I cant be 100% sure.
standby for pics.

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/jfowl31/swivel1.jpg
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i15/jfowl31/swivel2.jpg
and then what I came up with for the front of mine isnt anything special, but since I dont have any sling loops, I will just have to wrap it around my FF tube.

For any of you guys still on the fence... lemme pitch this one a little bit.
I have used a bunch of different kinds of slings, and finally have decided that I wont use anything but a 3-point on anything I plan on walking brush with or hiking with. I may look like Bubba with a tactical style sling on a bolt rifle, but I get real tired real fast of trying to keep the stupid thing on my shoulder. With 3 points, you can do anything without having to unsling or resling or anything like that. you can go from hands free carry to prone shooting without ever taking the rifle off your body.
What I like about this particular one is the WIDE main sling. Its extremely comfortable compared to a 1" sling. Ive worn my Cetme with a 1" 3-point for an hour or so, and was really sore on my left shoulder where the sling rests... with these, I wore mine the other day for over an hour and didnt notice a thing.
Also, if you have any nylon slings or go look at them in your Sporting goods store, they have relatively weak stitching... Even the ones that do the Box and X dont use the Zig Zag pattern that I am... Im using a crapload of thread for these, lemme tell ya. These suckers shouldnt ever fall apart at the seams. There's a company right now thats selling 3-points made for the HK, and theres some pictures of them here on the boards, and you can see the weaker stitching on them and the weak buckles and the 1" nylon... no offense to the buyer of that sling or anything, but I think these are better quality.
OK sales pitch over...

I must admit I am sold. I did have a few questions however...How adjustable is the forward rigging and rear stirrup configuration? Is the rigging plastic? Could I rig this up for say my 870 with relatively minor rigging additions/adjustments as well as my CETME? I have not checked the dimensions, but I can't imagine they are that far off. Looks like there is some room for adjustment on the stirrup there. If they are that different, would you consider offering two or more rear "stirrups" for multiple applications? If so, price? Can you do an all 1.5in ? Quality stitching, they look great!
jfowl31
05-13-2007, 02:49 PM
For an 870, the rear stirrup would work for both. I can make it with a little extra adjustability for whatever you want.
Only question I would have would be how it would attach to the front on an 870. The HK snap should attach to any sling loop if you have an adaptor up front, so that wouldnt be a problem.
about the all 1.5"... you're saying yyou want the stirrup and everything to be 1.5"? Thats doable, It would take me an extra couple days to get a 1.5" D-ring if you wanted it to be detachable like the other style I posted. The front attachment could be done in 1.5", but I wouldnt be able to put the HK snap on 1.5" as its a 1" opening. But thats just a short little piece.
I could also, if you dont have an adaptor up front on the 870, make another attachment piece with a D-ring that you just have for the shotty, and then the HK snap would clip into it, much like the way Ill be attaching one to my AR.
Just let me know what color, and exactly which style you want as far as the setup on the rear is concerned (clip or no clip).
It may be just a couple bucks more just for the extra 1.5" webbing and the other hardware for the extra front attachment point, but not much.
all hardware plastic except for the HK snap. Its all strong stuff though, and all the clips lock and unlock very positively.
If you're set on all 1.5" webbing, even up front, I could probably rig it up in a way to attach the HK snap to 1.5" with just a small piece of 1" sewn to the 1.5".
I'll do all that for $38 shipped if you want.
That gets you:
-1.5" rear stirrup with D-ring
-1.5" sling with swivel clip in rear and HK snap up front
-1.5"-1" adaptor piece on sling for HK snap attachment
-1.5" adjustable strap with D-ring for front attachment around handguard/barrel.
That should cover you for just about any rifle.
let me know what color.

btt... still going strong.
stay tuned, I'm working on getting a good single-point design to add to the mix.
design would be almost identical to this one http://dsgarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=317
But I would make a few improvements like 1.5" webbing rather than 1", and the buckle next to the strap would be sewn in place so the sling wouldn't slide around and the other buckle would be in the same place at all times to make it readily accessible. I look at that design and it seems like the strap coul slide around, and one could lose track of the buckle.
Pricing would be in the $30-35 range as well... probably closer to $30.
I'll try to get one done and some pics up, but unfortunately, I don't have a rifle with a single point loop, so if anyone wants to be a ginnypig for a discount, I'm open to that as long as you post some pictures for advertisement.

It should hang better than pictured with a genuine single point loop. I just used my front attachment length to attach it to the rear. As you can see it's easily maneuverable from left to right shoulder, and when hanging, the sling lays flat on your chest. I put a lot of adjustment in it so that both heavier and smaller guys can wear it. Honestly, I may have put too much adjustment in it, and will probably shorten it in the next ones. It was my first crack at it, and I'm pleased with the results even though I don't personally care for single points. Its very clean and simple. It has one buckle to release the rifle, and the other buckle unbuckles the sling to put it on or take it off.
and... Drine, sorry for the delay, I worked from Monday morning at 7 until 3 o'clock, then my wife called and had been in a wreck, so I was dealing with that, then got called in to work that night on 30 minutes sleep, got held up in the office until noon the next day, and had to work last night as well. alright... we'll start out with the black single point. Once the buyer gets it, he promises to take pictures of it with an SKS with a T6 stock. until hen, here are the prelims. the pictures of the OD slings are a bit deceiving... the 1" and 1.5" match very well, though the flash made the 1" look black for some reason.

And this one will get to see time in battle in Iraq (or wherever the guy is stationed). Its a stirrup in the rear with an HK snaphook to attch to that, another HK snaphook up front with a dogcollar if needed. The HK snaphook should clip right into an AR sling loop if there's one on the side of said AR, but just in case his didnt have this, I made a wrap for the front handguard or I've seen some guys strap it to the front sight, though I dont know how sturdy or advised that would be

I will take 2 of the 3 point for the PTR91 without cheekrest. I would like one in black and one in OD. I would like in set up like the
post below:
If you're set on all 1.5" webbing, even up front, I could probably rig it up in a way to attach the HK snap to 1.5" with just a small piece of 1" sewn to the 1.5".
Let me know if it is still 38.00 shipped or not by PM and I will paypal you the funds.

stay tuned for some new additions. I think I'm going to add the Ching Sling and a safari style Ching Sling that doesn't require a 3rd sling swivel.
Not totally sure on cost, I am thinking I could make due with $40 shipped. Materials will be more on these because the swivels will be sewn on, and they are not cheap ($5 a piece).
They will be in 1" Flat Nylon Webbing unless someone can PM me a source for 1.5" sling swivels. I would love to do 1.25" webbing, but its impossible to find in my experience. The 1" webbing should work great for a speed sling though.
oh, and my pleasure Hunter! Glad you like it.

I'm getting all my hardware and strap from vendors online, for a really good price. Its the metal hardware that costs a little bit. Swivels are $5 for the cheapest I can find, and I get Hk snaps for about $2.50 I think.

do you do tact. slings for a cetme w/ sliding stock
What does the rear attachment on the sliding stock look like? If I remember right, its a slot or ring right?
Easy answer is YES, I just need to see it up close or if you can check and see if the front HK snap hook will work in it. If it works, then absolutely, I got the materials on hand to make a 3-point or single point. A single point with the collapsible stock would be pretty cool I think.

see if the front snap will work on that loop in the back. If it works, then I'll use a clip in the rear, if it doesn't we can still do strap in the rear, but it might make it hang a bit too far forward.

Well Jordan,
I've got a need for your sling thing there.
I'm cash poor now but I am well supplied so...
Let me know if you can come up with:
Bi tone or tri tone (brown/tan shades), lighter color strap, darker attachment.
Metal hardware making no noise or contact with wood. Perhaps tubular webbing over the clips (Israeli style).
Small tool pocket sewn into length approx. (1.5"x10"). I'm thinking it would have to be along the flat middle section?
Anyway buddy, chew on all that and lemme know just how many rounds of 7,62x51 you'd be looking to barter for Eh.
I've still got lots of Rusty's SA and plenty of Win. white box, some IZZY, Lith., ...:icon_neutral:

I never even got a reply notice on this one. My bad for not getting in here sooner to respond.
Asfar as noise goes, in the rear everything is silent on the Cetme sling. The front CAN make noise as its not covered by anything, but I bet I could come up with some kind of sleeve that slides up and over the clip so it can't contact the wood.
The tool section would be no problem, I'll just double up on the 1.5" webbing and sew it as tight to the edge as I can. Maybe even have it button shut.
About the metal hardware. Are we talking ALL metal hardware? As in all the slides and buckles as well or just the clips. I've got plastic buckles and slides and rings right here with me, but I can order metal hardware from my supplier as well. Let me know if that's what you mean, and I'll price everything and get you a $$ amount, then we can talk about what a fair amount would be in trade.
As far as not being in touch with Saiga762, completely my fault. My wife has been using my comp and I think either clicked on the PM's so they weren't "new" for me to see or something of the likes. Ahh gotcha, I forgot about the trade part of it. For a second, I thought you were saying you were overseas or something.
FWIW to everyone else, I know of at least 3 slings that are holding up some rifles for a few marines across the pond.
Let me get some materials ordered up with the browns and tans in there, and I'll make something, and figure out how much more time it was or whatnot. I can't imagine it will take hardly any time to put hat tool pouch in there. I'll play around with the non-rub silent attachment too and see what I can come up with.

would this work with one of those stock mag pouches? i'm looking at getting one of those to keep a mag with my rifle, and want a 3 pt sling.
jfowl31
11-06-2009, 01:51 PM
The mag pouch I had had a D-ring on it for attaching a 3-point sling. If the one you buy has that ring, then its a real simple clip in clip off deal.
Some of the cheaper buttstock mag pouches don't have this ring.
Quick research looks like the Blackhawk mag pouches have the ring. Mine was Army issue... my buddy bought it for me on base, and I gave it back to him when he was deployed to use. I can't remember the brand, but it was high quality stuff. I've never seen the Blackhawk ones, but they look very similar.

i thought u ran it through the back loops or something.... hmmm.... ehh, screw it, either way, i'll take one for an M4gery w/A2 stock
does it matter if i have a side front sling mount, does that make it easier? just send the whole kit, paypal on the way
edit: still $35?
jfowl31
11-06-2009, 02:52 PM
It CAN go through the back loops and I'll give you the extra material to do it this way if you take the mag pouch off. All that goes through there is a dog collar type thing with a D-ring on it. Since the magpouch has a D-ring, its simpler to just use that.
Having the side sling mount makes it easier, or you can just do it Army style and attach it to the front sight with a dog collar there. I'll just give you a couple dog collars so that you can play with it and do it however you want. Options are always best.
Yeah $35 is good. You want black or OD?

Yeah, its pretty bright. It actually hurt my eyes to work on it to a point where after 30 minutes, it felt like I had been staring at the sun.
I got one of these sky chairs for Christmas, but mine did't come with a chain or cupholder, so I may use the rest of the pink stuff I have to make a strap that won't hurt the tree its gonna hang from, and make a skeletonized cupholder for it! Or maybe I'll just use some green so it doesn't shine pink through my living room window.
I think I can squeeze 3 slings into a small flat rate box, so that will save a bit on shipping for bigger orders. I can easily get 8-10 in a medium as well. I have no clue why I haven't been shipping these flat-rate all along. I just grabbed a crap-ton of boxes and can print labels online... soooooo much easier than going and waiting in line at the PO!

Jfowl, how about a post on the best way to set these up?
jfowl31
04-13-2010, 04:04 PM
I'll try to get my hands on an AR to take some pictures of how to set it up.
Basically though, the front of the sling is where the buckles are. You can either use the dog collar to go through the swivel, or go through the front sight, or wrap the whole handguard. OR you can clip the HK snap right to the swivel if you have a side swivel. Then the rear, use the dog collar on your collapsible stock. Just under the buffer tube there should be a horizontal slot near the rear of the buttstock. Put the dog collar through this slot, and clip the rear snap to the D-ring on the dog collar.
Now you can play with the function of those buckles up front. 1 of them will let the whole sling loose. Some guys like to put the rifle on and off this way. The other buckle will allow for more flexibility when its unclipped. You can set the sling up tighter, and if you need to drop to prone or switch to your left shoulder, you can unbuckle that one and get some extra room quickly to do that.
I don't have an AR on hand, nor do I have a sling set up for one right now, but I can draw something up to illustrate the instructions if you need Tanker.

jfowl31
05-11-2010, 11:55 AM
will do. I'm leaning toward a single point style with the sling adaptor that attaches to the magwell.
Other than that though, I'm going to do a simplified style of 3 point without the extra buckles up front. The rifle is so small, I think all that extra hardward up front could just get in the way.
okie shooter
05-11-2010, 12:07 PM
I have another question, have you made any single point slings for an AR style of rifle or pistol, as dang it, I got my self a pistol and think the only way to carry it is gonna be on a sling.
jfowl31
05-11-2010, 12:13 PM
Yeah I have a single point style... pictures are in this thread somewhere. I haven't made nearly as many of them though as the 3-point.
They seem to be well-liked though, I've just never really used a single point myself, so I don't know how I feel about the concept.
I had plans of doing my old AR with a single point, but didn't want a collapsible stock, and never got around to modifying a single point loop to work with the regular stock.

jfowl31
05-11-2010, 12:36 PM
alright well looking around a little more reveals some stuff...
The sling bracket that mounts to the magwell is for the HK style 3-point sling. Its the same type of clip that is on the wide handguards for the G3/91 series. Basically, this is out for a single point mount.
So the next option would be a HK stock pin with a ring on it... There's plenty of those floating around. Replace the rear pin with this pin and it would become a single point mount.

Jfowl, for hunting I have a Mamba 3pt on my remmy 1100 and it rocks for freezing my arse off in the deer tree. For my M4 at work doing coolguy stuff I would use nothing but a single point attached at the receiver extension, at the 6 o'clock or ambidextrous position to take shots from both shoulders. I run an MI single pt sling w a bracket that has QD holes at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. Sling goes over left shoulder for a righty. It may sound odd, but I did a week w Austin SWAT and that's the gold standard.
