Your Mileage May Vary, but, "probably", if it's a pistol, snapped in a snap holster, in the glove box, many believe that the cops will regard that as something not intended to be within easy reach, ditto for stuff in the trunk.

Yeah, yeah, I know, many people believe that's more restrictive than what the law says, but, the side of the road is not somewhere I care to explain laws to Officers of the Law...I've got my concealed-carry permit, so, if I play by the rules thereof, I'm OK regardless...

Many people don't remember this, but for a little while, several years ago, you could have a pistol in your car, but it had to be in plain sight!
I.e. laying on the seat beside you was OK, in the glove box was NOT.
Don't know what they were thinking back then...
