With the excitement of the new administration coming next week, I got my self an extra AR receiver from my local dealer. I am thinking that I want to build a 20" or longer flat top tack driver. Has any one order new parts kits/Uppers lately and have any idea of backlogs on the parts.
Just wondering what its like, I am amazed I even bought the receiver my self, guess two guns in less than fifteen days this year is starting off with a bang.

i have RRA lower parts kit on order and upper half on order, the upper is going to take 15-18 weeks, the parts kit is something like.... well, 3 weeks ago i got the buttstock assembly, and the parts kit was ordered at the same time, like 2-3 weeks before that..... so yea, i'm still waiting as well, but everything's paid for and on order.

Good luck!
All suppliers are out of barrels: 3 to 5 month back order, and most are out of Bolt carrier groups, 2-3 month back order.

J&T are back logged on barrels 8 to 12 weeks from what they said.
I have been looking around for awhile now and nobody has anything so just prepare yourself for the wait.

Lower parts kits are available, but bolt carrier groups and upper halves are tough.
If you are in a hurray, Gunbroker has a good variety of both, though they are fairly high. A Blackthorne M4 upper goes for more than a kit goes for!
After getting my Saiga 223, I decided to sell my Del-Ton 1/7" M4 upper and planned on building a retro XM177 16" A1 configuration. The LW 1/9 barrels were out of stock and 16 week back-order everywhere, so I decided on a M16A1 20 retro. Two months ago, Ohio Ordnance had the M16A1 take off upper $250. They are gone and I ended up paying $340 for a cherry one with a new SAK 1/12 chrome barrel off Gunbroker. Even retros are running $350 to $475. One in the condition I bought is about $425 now!
