For those of you on the old forum, you may remember the problems I had a while back with my "Black Widow". Just to update, I took it to the range again this AM(third time) and it performed flawlessly with SA, SB. Portugese and Venezualean ammo. Put well over 100 rounds through it! Say what you will about CIA but they stood behind their product in this case and did an excellent job!

Century stood behind mine but it was the information I got from everyone here that armed me for battle with them. I really think that Century woke up to the fact that they were getting a lot of :bull: dropped on them from everyone one the internet about their guns. Several of us even threatened class action lawsuits:wow: and filed against them with the Southern Florida BBB.:ranting: The heat just got to great for them to try and use their tactics as there were liability issues on their part as well. Glad to hear it is fixed and running well.

Century dismissed me like an idle school boy. Not under warranty was what I was told. I've spent a few bucks and learned the rebarelling technique myself so I guess I came out to the good. It still seems a class action suit can and very well could be on the horizon, especially if someone is hurt or killed.
Zero bolt gap dangers have been drilled in my head since I first started looking at these sites. Does anyone have any numbers or good guessed as to how many of these rifles have KAboomed? DR

glad to hear that your experience with them was good and that your rifle is running smoothly now. I am honestly dumbfounded that they have not been bankrupted by lawsuits yet...

One of the reasons I posted this is all the bad press they have had. I can't speak for anyone else but they treated me right. I own at least five firearms from them and except for the CETME I got just about what I expected.

For good or for bad, how many of us would own a hk91/or cetme clone if it wern't for century, most wouldnt. In my gun safes there are many examples of military surplus and such that have CIA or one of the other monikers of the company, to include my L1A1, six ak rifles(wasrs, maddis, and sars) plus my g-3 clone, two cetmes and the mas-36. Thus we may badmouth them but at one time the common bond was we all owned one.
Before them there were how many cetmes imported as MARS's to this country, its thousands I believe.
I guess in military surplus imports they are one of the large(if not largest) player in that arena. Many of the vendors we love actually get stock from them.

I also own a Century Cetme & after a thorough cleaning & a couple trips to the range with SA ammo, she functions flawlwssly. After some strategic grinding & polishing, she takes Cetme or G-3 mags without a hitch.

It is great to have a knowledgeable forum to come to in times of stress and need for help with these and other arms! Glad to see things worked out!

Both me and my friends CETME's were a-okay right from Century...after hearing the horror stories I figured we just got lucky? But I would think most of the guns they sell are okay it's just you always hear about the bad ones?:533:

Glad to hear they fixed you up right...
Mine's worked flawlessly and perfectly from day 1 with G3 mags. Its extremely accurate (MOA or less) and recoil is incredibly low.
Of course it outta be an amazing rifle since I paid nearly $700 for it a couple years ago.
It was built on an unissued parts kit, and has a new American barrel in it that is incredible! Either I got really lucky, or all the Limited Editions are this nice... either way, Id spend another 700 and get one if I had the chance.

Hello,
would you share with me your rifle setup ?
trigger group # pull weight & creep ??
ammo used used to achieve moa or less ??
range to target ?? on a bench ??
the reason i ask as a shooter myself i thought about trying some upgrades to mine ,, then i changed my mind as i dont see the Cetme ever shooting moa or less day in day out ,, the PSG1 is a .5 to moa rifle but there's a big difference in that and a Cetme .
im working all of the bugs out of mine and having a trigger job done
so it's real close to being a go to rifle when needed .
Thanks for your relply

Mines a cast SS Cetme with an american made barrel in it... I suspect its a PTR barrel, as it has the same number of lands and grooves (8 of each), but I cant prove that, but it sure shoots like it.
Trigger is the stock stuff with a Bill Springfield trigger job which got it down to around 3 pounds or so... A better break than any AR Ive shot, and that says a lot.
Ammo was and always is SA surplus, but I shot even smaller groups pulling the bullets and seating 110 gr V-max bullets. SA shoots MOA or slightly larger, and the 110 shot sub-MOA, as well as 150 gr A-max seated in SA with pulled bullets.
Range varies from 50 yards all the way out to a hair short of 700. Shoots well at all ranges, but with only a 4x scope, it aint easy to hold that tight group out there.
Ive shot 3" 300 yard groups prone a ton of times, but typically I shoot about 150, and groups hover around 1.5-2" with SA.
I only shoot prone... I can't shoot off a bench anywhere near as well as I can prone off the HK bipod or even better off a Cetme foreend with a Harris attached.
Mine came extremely accurate out of the box... only thing I did was tune it a bit with +2's and it recoils perfect... just enough to bump fire... and got the trigger job done when he ran one of his specials.
I think typically they shoot 2-2.5" groups, so Im not sure if I just happened to get a really nice barrel, or if all the LTD's shoot this well... I know Im one happy shooter! I got a SHTF gun as well as a decent sniper rifle. I need to get the HK claw mount with 30mm rings and mount up some big glass and see how she performs. Ive got a Fero Z24 scope and HK mount on it now, and I love the setup with the low power scope and German reticle... Its perfect for hunting... though not the greatest for target shooting until you get used to it.
