Century has released more new Cetmes for sale.
They are not $299, like mine was, but in today's market, they look like the best deal going.
Bring on the Newbs!

At the last two shows I was at, they were on the tables, looks like they are using us made fire control parts too, though not sure of the actual compliance parts in them.

The dealer I talked with said he got them from classic, I should have looked at them closer to see the quality, as I wasnt sure if they were brand new or new old stock though. Just from what I saw, they were as advertised, black widdow builts, with us made plastic stocks.

ANYWAY YOU LOOK AT A CETME RIFLE IT IS A FINE LOOKING PIECE OF HARDWARE.
MADE IN SPAIN THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL VARIATION OF THE WORLD FAMOUS HK-91 RIFLES.
CHAMBERED IN THE POWERFUL .308 ROUND THESE HARD HITTING SEMI-AUTO RIFLES ARE WORLD FAMOUS FOR THEIR ACCURACY AND RELIABILITY. IF YOU HAVE EVER SEEN THE MOVIE SNIPER THIS IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE WEAPON BILLY ZANE CARRIES. THEY HAVE BEEN SO HARD TO GET BUT WE JUST RECEIVED A SMALL BATCH AND THEY ARE IN STOCK AND READY TO SHIP.
COMES COMPLETE WITH 2-20 ROUND MAGS.
DON'T MISS THESE, WE ONLY HAVE A FEW AND WHEN THEY ARE GONE THEY ARE GONE.....$699.95
MADE IN SPAIN??? VARIATION OF THE WORLD FAMOUS HK-91???

I would say that is a typical, poorly informed, Classic Arms ad. The amount of misinformation that comes from that vendor, never ceases to astound me.

Heh,if Billy Zane woulda been armed with a Century that movie would have dragged on forever,"hold on Sarge,I gotta run back and grab a new bolt,a locking piece, some plus rollers,a feeler gauge,a barrel press,......":icon_biggrin:

Yep, that's what happens on a forum, people tend to give their opinion.

For those of you interested, there is a guy posting over in the Gunsmithing section on the FALfiles who says he was a former gunsmith for Century. He is willing to answer any questions you may have about projects worked on, quality control (or lack thereof) and other topics regarding the basic operations at Century while he was there.
Might be a good chance to at least get a few questions answered about what went on with their initial CETME builds.
Maybe we should invite him over to this board to provide some insight.
Matt
PS. On a side note, there are some on the FalFiles who question whether this guy is really who he says he is. Most of his posts seem to have sufficient detail to prove he was there. Just take it with a grain a salt, like everything on the internet.

Since it's a US made receiver I'd say they are made here in the USA, with other parts from unknown and probably mixed sources.
Agree that classic arms can be a bit sloppy with the facts. But if you know a bit about what you are buying they are an OK place. They have always treated me fair, and their prices are reasonable - well, as reasonable as this crazy market allows anyway.
Also think that the newer Century builds are better than they used to be - though they are still an entry level product. I took a chance and bought one a couple weeks back. It looks good, no silly tricks like ground bolt heads, headspace is OK, everything lines up. Only issues I've found are a missing screw cap off the cleaning kit housing (available for $0.15 at Century, and they'd probably send me one free if I asked), and also the lip on the magazine well may be a few thousandths off - magazines seat, but it takes more force than it should. Sounds like that is a well known issue with Century receivers.
Of course the real test will be when I take it to the range, but that will be awhile yet. It's cold here in North Dakota this time of year. -45 wind chill today, and the range I go to is out on the open prairie, no shelter.

This weekend for a 50 yd.Mosin postal shoot. it was maybe 10F, with a wind chill that put it below 0F. Still, the 91/30 shooting Hungarian did the job, in the seated (legs spread, not crossed) shooting position.
