That reminds me, has anyone tried the blue plastic 7.62 NATO training ammo that is for sale? Due to the near non-availability of regular ammo, I have been seriously thinking about getting some.

A guy over on HK-Pro bought a 1000 rounds and the HK lightened bolt carrier/no roller bolt. Of course he was using it in a G3, but he said it was a blast to shoot and more accurate than you'd think. Dan's Ammo was selling 1000 rounds and the special G3 bolt/carrier for $299.00.

I looked on Dan's site and didn't see it listed so he must be out.

That website (http://www.municion.org/762x51/762x51.htm) has a lot of good .308 /7.62x51 info on European cartridges that I had not seen before. thanks for sharing

Back in stock...http://www.dansammo.com/ammo.asp
But it's an HK bolt carrier which won't work in the CETME right?

No it won't without some serious modification of the Cetme. What you could do is buy a Cetme bolt and carrier, lighten the carrier a bunch by milling it down and remove the rollers out of the bolt head. That's pretty much what the HK practice bolt is.

That's an idea. $75 for a new bolt/carrier group plus the ammo is cheap enough to make that an overall savings for plinking.
Wonder if the plastic ammo would be good for home defense at close ranges? :)

I'm kicking around buying some of that plastic stuff for shooting in the FR-8. I figure a bolt gun won't care .
