Hey I have never seen a dark stock like that on an Alby. Mine is very light beech. Yours looks like that Russian Birch. How old is your?

1969 and it's in GREAT condition. I had several to choose from and really liked the dark stock..........more evil. :wohow:

I don't think so. I bought it over a month ago. I had to pay it out and it's been sitting at my FFL for 2 weeks.

Yeah, I am tracking down a nice laminate M44 now, and thinking about an Albanian and Romy to complete my SKS collection.

Now AK's... don't even start trying to get one of each... boy are there a lot of variations out there!

than the SKS bug...and I'm getting the AK bug bad now...hope I can stop at just 2 AKs...and stay away from FPKs PKMs and RPKs...and Saigas...and Galils...and Valmets...

TexLurch, I think a laminate M-44 would be nice. The gem for my collection of Mosins would be an ex-sniper, then I' have to get the Pu scope...mmmm. A laminate stock would be good. a Finn would be good. NO real desire for a 38 tho. I wonder how many US-made Mosins are still kickin around...that might be cool.

Yeah, I went to buy a laminate M44 but it had some good nicks, so ended up with a laminate M38 following me home. Already have a nice 1945 M44 unarsenaled, so I think it needs a stable mate...
