These are so cheap I really should buy another. For some strange reason I think these may not be around in a couple years. I dressed mine up with Bulgarian furniture. It came with the standard canted gas block.

is it a canted sight base or gasblock? the front sight base is not to hard to fix they say.:) that furniture looks real nice.

I still need to straighten the front sight block on my black one... but it's got a red dot, so it's not a right now kind of deal.

And as always, remember your parts count with the funiture swap... looks good though. I'm still contemplating polishing the bolt carrier on my woody.

Tump..Yes it is the gasblock, not the sights. Or maybe its both. Either way I need to fix it. Optimus, I hear ya about the parts counts. I should be good here......Muzzle break (1), Fire control (2,3,4), Grip (5), Follower (6). Ya know I am looking at it right now and the grip doesn't say anything. Bought it at a gun show out of a parts box marked "USA". I think I will change it back to the Century black one.

*Edit* Not USA, Bulgy. Good eyes Optimus, that grip was from a Bulgy kit, not gun show. I am compliant now, whew!

Yeah... I keep contemplating a laminated wood pistol grip for mine, just cause the Century one doesn't do it for me, but I can't bring myself to pay for one......

I haven't seen any wasr around in while, I wonder if any are still available? Yes, they are. Aim Surplus (http://www.aimsurplus.com) has them. Probably IO (http://www.interordnance.com), too. Classic (http://classicarms.us) also has them, and don't forget Century (http://www.centuryarms.biz) (who imports and monkeyfies them in the first place)

I've got a couple that I took in on trades during the last group buy I hosted. I have yet the chance to shoot them, so not really aware of how they'll handle at the range. I'll try and take some pix and post them in the morning.

I got one last fall, they are coming in as low cap, but with all the evil features still there(bayonet lug and threaded muzzle w/flash hider). Mine was high cap, and had accesories to include two mags, bayonet and mag pouch. The compliance parts by century were the muzzle break, fcg(3), grip and gas piston. Off the top of my head I cannot remember if the fcg was century build or G2/tapco. They are the lowest priced game in town for these things though. Not as nice as others but serviceable and the finish seems to be better than my older one with a slightly nicer wood(but not as good as my older sar-2 and sar-1).

Pick up any shotgun news and they are thurout the thing, I am positive I saw the last time I looked that J&G had them.

I sold my WASR after getting an M70.

I hated to do it, especially after replacing the trigger group with a G2 and refinishing the stocks. However, it was a post-ban.....and I couldn't stand having it around to remind me of that dumbarse piece of legislation....
