I have yet to learn how to post photos but will try and help if you post a photo. I am by no means a advanced collector I have 16 so far I found a russian combat knife 1 of 1000 let into the us cost 500.00 I would have bought it if I had the money gee I have never wanted a knife more than this one. I fear Im never going to have a crack at buying one like it again . I have a east german bakelite in black they are somewhat rare & hard to get. my fav are the red bakelite most made after 1978 and where most made for ak 74,s I have read that there are around 130 ak bayonets to be had most run from 25.00 to 60.00 thats why they are fun collect most can afford half of them made others hard to get can run 100.00 plus well cheers and looking to add more as I have money to buy them

Here is my extensive AK bayonet collection :)

They one in question is the third one with the yelowish handle I think it's hungarian...
I think they are from left to right..
Bulgarian... Romainian... Hungarian?.... East German?

The bayonet in question appears to be a Polish AKM Type II.

The hanger on it looks like East German.

The rest of your guesses were correct.

Agree with above post. The third one is a Polish bayo with wrong (DDR) hanger.

Well let's get this thread back on topic. Here's the two displays I have for some of my bayonets. The first is U.S. and British bayonets. The second display is my Kalashnikov bayonet display. I hope others will post pics of there collections as well.

Nice blades, guys. I'm just an amateur, I have an M5 for my Garand, and an M6 for my M1a. The Romanian AK came with a bayonet also.
Some of the ones I see advertised are quite pricey, even reproductions.

What is the little hook on the tang used for?

Do you mean the hook on the sheath? That's part of the wire cutting function. On the other side of the sheath is a stud that engages the rectangular hole in the blade turning it into shears to cut barb wire.

Steve: Th hook on the guard used to hold a leather thong with an aluminum buckle, I have one on my Romy bayo too, and it had the leather strap in place. it was probably to retain the knife in the hand, but looked more like it was for decoration more than anything...the thong looped thru the pommel (butt) too. Look at the last pic in Lewcifers post, and you can see a bumber of the bayos in the top row with the leather thong in place.

Nice collections everyone Lewcifer820 you are the king of bayonets!
I few of my small hoard 1895 Krag 1909 Springfield 1907 SLME Wilkinson a 1916 dated Swede some Russian sockets and although not a bayonet this British Army Knife from the early 80s was clearly inspired by the Big Krag Bolo Bayonet.
You could crack a skull with this it is over 3/8 thick.
When I looked at the Springfield and Enfield bayonet I wondered did they run anyone thru? The Krag maybe not or maybe so. Thats the thing about collecting old weapons.. You never know where it been or what it's done most of the time
