Cypher27, those are awsome and fun bikes. I would love to get one
since I sold my street bike a couple of years ago. There is a post on
page two of this forum where someone had racks built to turn some
ammo cans into hard bags, pretty neat setup really, here is the link,
I think. They could be made to look good on a shinny, new bike also,
and they would be light weight.

Thanks for the link...there are MANY options for mounting things like that on the KLR. I might get a "trunk" for it but I really don't need too much stuff on it to hold things.

I took my girlfriend out on it for the first time yesterday even after she told me when I got it that she wouldn't ride on it with me....we went around the apt complex and then out on the street for a bit...when we got back to my apt she said "Lets do it again!", hahaha....so we went for a longer ride that time on the street and she really likes it...that was her first time on a bike.

It is a very fun and comfortable bike, I was gonna get this for now and later on trade in for a 07 GSXR 750, but I'm not sure yet, lol

I have the camo / ammo canned KLR from the link. You will never sell it unless you are getting a new enduro! I have a Bandit 1200 and the KLR. I live in Mpls.MN and I love this bike as a city bike(eye to eye with SUV pilots and enough torque to get out of the way). And I am tall enough it's a capable trail bike for me. Good luck and happy riding! Keep the rubber side down and the shiny side up! Here are some links to some aftermarkets parts.

Yeah, but how ya gonna defend that thing when TSHTF and ya have to get outta Dodge?

I remember when I was young and sold some of my guns. It was a regret I will NEVER do again.

I would not sell my loved ones for anything less than a HD and even then...I wouldn't sell my guns to get one.:icon_exclaim: :icon_exclaim:

Just my opinion.
