I think that's pretty funny, considering their buttstocks don't have removable buttpads!:icon_razz:

It is also a lot cheaper than a HK-21 buttpad.

Wow, do you have a pic of the HK21 pad on your G3?

Are they still available?

I love my PTR - but the FIRST thing I did with it was take off the crappy stock set they dressed it in.

i have a couple pads still - i think 2

id take $60.00 plus shipping for one brand new never installed

they are curved to fit your shoulder, and snap right onto a g3 buttstock
nice soft rubber compared to the hard plastic standard

also same style pad as on the psg1 sniper rifle just the psg1 pad attaches differently

Perro, I think this is probably a dumb question, but I'm at work and don't have a G3 handy :( .... would that be campatible with a wood stock?

nope
the wood stock installs with 2 wood screws

the plastic standard pad, the one you are looking at on JLDs page, and the hk21 pad install with 2 spring loaded clips that install over the top of the pin keeper sleeves inside of the plastic stocks

Oh well, I've been thinking of making an M14-style metal butt plate for the G3 for better door smashing and head-clobbering abilities :)

Mine cost $75, weighs at least a pound and is as hard as a rock. I'd have gone for $20 if it had been available then,

Heheee...I love the Mosins for that buttplate. run otta bllets...hey no prob! You gotta steel bound club with a pike on the other end--ya just get medieval on their arses!

(BTW--found out this past weekend that the fold out bayo on a Mosin M-44 wil really perf a water-weighted 55gal drum with ease...yikes!)

Man I'd love one of those perro, bt I'l have to czech back after the Ak bug has run its course.

19bux seems like a lot for something you can get in a set of hardware for 35USD or less...

I used one from Wild Bill. It is a convincing copy of the original Spanish hard rubber pad used on CETME wooden stocks. Wild Bill's pad is much softer than the original. They are cheap as well...only $10 plus shipping!
