Ok guys,
Here is the info about the Rigid Rail Modification or RRM from testing, which was spectacular.
Here are the specs:
USGI fiberglass stock with no modification(modification made during testing).
Springfield Armory Loaded SS, complete with all NM mods and a SEI steel mount with a Millett TRS-1 4-16X50 Mil-Dot, side focus, Illuminated reticle.
Ammo:South African Ball for the first 2 groups, the last group is Hornady 168 Amax factory match ammo.
Strings: 5 rounds.
Range: 100 yards.
Wind: 2-4 mph, half value, quartering, Left to Right, Front to Rear(Quartering head wind)
Weather: Sunny
Temperature: 70 degrees.
Humidity: 63%
(All local weather data via radio and web)
Rifle cleaning: None, rifle was fouled by 20 rounds of SA surplus ball before testing began, and was not cleaned in any way between groups.(Testing was for the rail mod, under normal range conditions, and the average shooter)
Shooter: My friend Bob, he is not a high power shooter, this was his second time firing a scoped high power rifle of any kind, but he does shoot a 10-22 that is scoped. I consider him to be a good shot, but I did not want this test to be about the shooter, it was about the RRM so I asked Bob to do the test shooting for me.
The benefits of this modification are tremendous:
1.Because of the secrets I learned in my quest, the RRM actually increases the accuracy attainable with a given rifle.
2.The RRM is useable for any Picitinny friendly items you wish to install.
3.The fore end flex is all but eliminated.
4.The USGI fiberglass stock is impervious to the weather and any kind of POI change that might occur in a wood or wood based product.
5.It is hundreds of dollars less than a Sage, etc.
6.The USGI fiberglass stock does not need to be glass bedded to attain NM accuracy levels.
7. Because there is no bedding, cleaning is straight forward, just as with a normal M-14/M1A.
