What's an Iver Johnson M1 Carbine in Stainless with 150rds of ammo worth? Don't really care for one, rather put a couple hundred more and get the Garand. But if that's a real good deal I'd get it or get it for someone who wants it here. I'm thinking the real McCoy although old and somewhat worn commands the same price from CMP. Thought I'd ask. Thanks

In todays market, it would go for $700, maybe more...The CMP Inland at $495 looks mighty good compared to that.
Ivers could have problems, too. Back when you could buy them new, my shooting bud bought one after he saw the Plainfield carbine I owned at the time in action. The cam surfaces in the operating slide missed being heat treated..the cams wore away after less than 100 rounds.

I remember reading here about the reproductions being less than good. I didn't want one when you could get them cheap so now they are more expensive I want one even less. Having said that, I've never shot one IIRC so I better not or I'm sure the bug would bite.

The Plainfield I had was great, and cost me around $75. I have since learned that they are considered the best reproductions. Wish I never sold it.

I have a plainfield, its was a good deal at the time and I paid three hundred for it, now they run closer to six in this weird market.

BTW, the asking price is 500.00. I'm not interested but someone here might be.
