Hi, Someone asked me for info about tactical grips.
There are two places I know.

http://www.nill-griffe.de/cms_int/index.php?orderno=HK073W8&land_id=3&detail&id_navigation=4

http://www.ergogrips.net/item-detail.cfm?ID=4185&storeid=1&image=ergohktact.gif&CFID=10358077&CFTOKEN=55138224
The first is very expensive but the best.

They're all Right-handd models. No good for us southpaws.

However, I dod grind and file an old G-3 grip into a more lefty comfy grip by removing the palm swell and the trig finger shelf. Much more comy fer me!

If I could fin the Navy grips that slip on, I'd totally be into one. no bias for leftys or rightys.

Thanks for the links. I really like the wood grip shown in the first link but at nearly $250USD for it I don't see me picking one up. Hell, I only paid $400 for the cast receiver CETME and less than that for the stamped.

Now the second one is more probable. Before now, the only people I knew that sold a grip like that was Florida Gun Works and I wasn't too keen on sending them any money considering their reputation.

ptr91.com (http://www.ptr91.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=50) has the Ergo, too.

beware that the Ergo take some work to make it worth a damn.

The material its made of is soft rubbery stuff, so when you go to tighten down the screws 2 things happen:

1. The grips squishes together at the bottom where its open, and the shelf rides down to the very end as you tighten it down, and
2. The shelf is soft rubber too, so as you tighten it, it just dimples in and doesnt get tight.

on mine, I made an insert that fits in the bottom and will give you some backing to tighten against, and I havent yet, but I will be filling the shelf with bondo or something so that it stiffens up and gives backing for tightening... just know that its cheaper for a reason. Its definitely comfortable, but you cant tighten down anything without modding it rather extensively.

Rock on JFowl, that's good info to have when making the decision to buy one or not.

I'm gonna pull mine off and start carving a new one at work with a chisel and knife... I think it will be a fun way to pass the time.

It really does work well once you work with it a bit... I love mine, and will love it even more once I finish it up.

Most of the guys here are handy enough to work with the Ergo grip, since most of us are handy enough to fix a CIA hackjob...

but no problem Geil, just wanting everyone to be informed.

Every now and then, the grips at FGW will pop up somewhere with a better reputation, and Ill probably dump some money on one next time.
