Depends, assembling one, you have the option of purchasing the exact components you desire and leaving the ones that you don't off. I've been averaging under $600 a build, using new parts, but then winding up spending a lot more for the ubber-tacticool stuff.

-->You ain't said rat root. Sprinters don't win cross country, man. Consisten posting is the way to get the count up, and after a while of useless posts, ppl don't feel much of a need to respond to them.

If you really want your post count up, contribute in quality, and hey, that's how we all learn stuff.

The guy who posts 25times in one thread will fall waay short from a guy who posts 15 times a day in 15 threads, and the discussion will be more lively.

I am more interested in the ammo box that your rifles are sitting in the photos. Looks like fairly new markings, but not sure what ammo plant KN was for sure.

P.S. found a reference that says the projectile and round were LAP(load, assemble, pack) at Kansas AAP. I guess working with the stuff makes me want to inquire. The largest number of boxes I have observed have come from lots out of LS, which is Lonestar AAP in Texarkana which with Kansas is on the BRAC to close. I think that will leave only IAAP with any real loading capablity for artillary shells.

Don't tell anyone, but this sillyness does have a goal. Instead of being just a source for info, friendships can develop from this banter.
Right now everyone is on equal footing, so the shy and quiet are more apt to post here. Once they post a few times they get confidence to join in.
After all, wouldn't it be nice to talk as friends, not as students/instructors?

It never missed a beat in all those years of abuse. That is one fine little rifle. I liked it so much I bought another one, but that isn't why I came here today. I came to ask a question. you wanna build me a couple of AR's?????? need at least 2 .308 and 7.62

From my friends that build them, they are just put them together and make sure you do it right, no welding, no pressing, just a barrel vice and wrench. These are really easy to build from what everyone tells me, just make sure you put it together.(even an army armorer told me there wasnt much too it)

If you can field strip an AR, you can assemble one. I've had plastic model car kits that vexed me more.

Well here it is, #100 and SGT. I made SGT the first time in November 1975 after 26 months in the Army. Never thought I'd see it again. LOL
