I heard about the VT shooting at work (from Military rifle.com), and surfed the news sites for info.
ABC News' site has a link to a poll asking if this shooting shows a need for tighter gun control.
Currrently, it is running at 12,000 "no", and 6000 "yes"
Please go on and vote.
They also are running a side-bar story claiming that congress' failure to renew the mag capacity limit is a reason. They are accepting comments on that story.

Voted, it's ridiculous to assume people will act out just because they have a firearm.

I voted "NO" as I figure that most of us will. However, this may just be the fuel that Pelosi, Clinton, Fienstein, Kennedy, Brady, et al might need to get a strangle hold on the gun control issue. Remember, the majority of the people that voted "NO" in this poll are probably like us. The real test will be over the next few months as the Demorats are sure to mount a major offensive on the second amendment due to this fiasco that was arguably made worse by the inaction of the university officials. For us as gun owners and shooters of the EBR's this couldn't have come at a worse time.

Well men, the count is 20,800 to 9800 in our favor now. Not that I think it means a single solitary damn. IMHO, if the poll doesn't show what the anti's want it to say, the results will be scuttled, and there will be no more mention of it. Besides, did you catch this, there is a "This is not a scientific poll" disclaimer. Last time I checked, polls were statistical, placing them in the realm of mathematics ... not science.:hammer:
I keep voting (in ALL elections and some polls) as though I believe that there is a snowball's chance in hell that it will make a difference (maybe the optimist in me wants to still believe there is a .. chance). However, at this point in my life experience, I do not believe that it means a hill of beans (This is the realist/scientist/engineer in me talking here - If it cannot be proven through qualified, documented observation, it is OPINION, not FACT). The anti's don't necessarily WANT "FACTS", they want to FEEL good - even if they achieve nothing but NEGATIVE progress for the state of freedom and personal security in this country.
What :jerkoff: came up with the now "all important" issue of the problem with "high capacity magazines" - THAT boils my buttocks too. Come on, the "assault" took around around TWO hours according to ABC's report. Add those killed to those wounded, divide by the elapsed time and DO THE MATH! Even a poorly coordinated musketeer could have achieved this rate of fire while in combat with the enemy during the 1700's. This thug WAS NOT facing opposition from what I can see. He was also in a target rich environment, that gave up their 2nd Amendment right to self protection as a condition of attending VT (like most colleges and universities nowdays.....:nonono: )
Also, did you notice that there WAS NOT a poll addressing the public's opinion as to whether a possibly armed on campus citizenry could have kept this from being the "WORST SHOOTING IN AMERICAN HISTORY" I've been lied to far too many times to believe that the game is not rigged. Hence the reason that all good citizens should have a :shithitsthefan8ba: rifle and ammo-a-plenty.

You wouldn't possibly mean that they popped an operative to get this done would ya ..... :nonono:
Perhaps the puppet theatre is preparing to spool up their game. :nar:

Hello Team:
Of course I vote "NO"
Latest stats:
No. Violent shootings are isolated incidents and it's irresponsible to link them to gun control.
24,086
Yes. This shows the violence that can occur when someone has access to handguns.
10,984
I'm not sure. I need more information.

There is a comment on the op/ed point with discussion wether this was caused by the availablity of high capicty magazines, with a comment that this was done with a assault weapon, I guess anything besides single shots in some folks must be assault weapons.
Of course it was an assault weapon. ANYTHING used in an assault is, by definition, an "Assault Weapon" The problem is that the spin-meisters prey upon those who are ignorant of the proper use of language to foist their propaganda. I imagine that if someone on campus would have used a "defensive weapon" to quickly end this fiasco, their attempts would have been labeled as "ill conceived, dangerous, or putting others at risk" by our elitist media.
Folks I pray for the souls of those who perished. And for their families. This is a black day for us all. But the price of liberty is eternal vigilance. There are enemies within that will try to parlay this to advantage, just you wait and see. They're already jockeying for position .... the game's afoot.:1106:

voted No.. Where were the police? A two hour rampage? That is what I am outraged about.. Where were all these SWAT teams you see over and over? Even the smallest county sheriffs dept has a SWAT team. I would assume the VT police has rifles and shotguns kevlar vest etc..This is not 1966 and this guy was not Charles Whitman with a scoped rifle in a clock tower.
This was a dude with a pair of pistols. What the hell happened?

Another NO vote here. Is it just me or does it seem that there are more shootings going on since November than there was in the last year or
two combined. I might be leaning towards a conspiracy type thing and
you guys might think I'm crazy, but I'm sorry, I don't put anything past
our government that wants our firearms. The current supply of Democrats
have said they want more than before and all of them are so crooked
that they make a West Virginia backroad look like a four lane super-
highway.

Just saw CNN (at work, it's all they allow except one hour at lunch for FOX), anyway on CNN just now one of the talking heads said video games, gangster rap and paintballs were a big problem. BUT, she wasn't all stupid, she said if a teacher or guard were armed they might have stopped this.

Voted No as well. I'm thinking "conspiracy" time too. It's been a while since folks got riled up against guns and with those in power nothing is beneath them to get what they want. I need to put my hat on and get to bed. :tinhat:

Well it wasn't an "assault rifle" at least...it was a 9mm pistol and .22 pistol.
