View Full Version : Obendorf M96 swiss mauser

Traded a Romy 'G' kit for a remington 870 shotgun then traded that for a Germand built (Offendorf) M96 - built in 1900.
How can I tell if it is a German or Swedish stock?
It has all matching numbers, down to the barrel bands, and the ID disc on the butt indicates it had a perfect barrel and no windage problems with the standard round.
It is in great condition, I got it from a guy who bought it 20 years ago, probably paid $65 back then!

Did a little research and the rifle has a german stock origonal to the rifle, the stock and handguard are both serial numbered to the rifle and there is another 'm' stamp above the trigger area in the stock that only appeared on German made swede mausers.
Im happy with it!
