I needed a pistol and wanted a SIG for a long while. While waiting on the CETME parts to rebarrel, I got bored. Well, now I've got it.
Pictures to follow.
Here's the good/bad news. My 15 yo son who is a crack shot told me he was "fixin" to outshoot me this past weekend. I took the first mag and did OK, I thought, with a new pistol. He proceeded to put all 12 shots inside the ring!!! That p's me off but at the same time the pride just takes over.
This is the same kid who worked last summer with his grandpa and made enough money to purchase a nice Bushmaster M-4. Not a pile of video games or pokemon crap mind you. If I could just persuade him to take the scope of the carrying handle and use the peepers.
Oh yea, does the SIG 226 count in this category? Seal friend on mine carried one so I thought I was good to go.

Some of our S-2 guys got them overseas too, and any number of the Homeland Security Agency carry them now, including the Coast Guard, so I think so.
As for your son outshooting you, my dad still is better with pistols than me, but I beat him out a long time ago with long guns... he blames being an old tanker and officer and never shooting rifles often. I try not to disagree with him about that too much...

I fired the 1911 for qual one time since the C.O. was on the line. He failed, I passed because I didn't shoot the pistol he was issued. He fired again with the one I used and barely made the grade. Straight issue it was and no doubt left over from the big war. Wish I had one of the grease guns the mechs had. This was 1986 and STILL some of those things were in service.

And they never should have left... would be alot easier to handle when driving a dozer than the M-16A4 I have to wrestle with now.
