Final Logo and Hat thread.

Guys Vote for the hat (I know we did that already but didn’t have prices). And the logo you like best. Remember the winner gets a free hat on me. Just FYI this will be a multivote please only vote for one hat and one logo. Mods help me watch this so someone doesnt accidently vote twice. Guys please only put legit questions and opinions in this thread. If you want out because you don’t like the hat or logo that is finally chosen please say so. I will leave this open for a while (two weeks) so vote while you can. If you want in put it in the gauging interest thread. Once this goes live mods if you will put this in the FS section that would be great. I will let everyone no the cost and where and when to send MO's in due time. Guys if there are any extra-unforeseen costs that come in I will absorb them. Guys these prices do not include S/H. I’m not sure if I will use a box or one of those envelopes with the bubble wrap in them.

I voted for the medium profile hat just because I think its a happy "medium" to make everyone happy. I prefer deep hats, but I can live with a medium profile.

oh one more schmitty.. the gears on the top one meet the body of the logo where on the second one, there's a gap... both in the bottom middle and on the sides.

I do still wish you'd throw a Cetme in place of that AR though... just for grins. That would make it the perfect logo in my eyes... again, not because I'm a Cetme snob, but because of the origins of mf.com being from cetmerifles.com... let us not forget our roots!

I was thinking those gears was the bolt face of an AR like the logo on AR15.com which is sweet.

Too late now, I imagine but a cetme would look swell, but only because I don't own a fal. But it's better than putting an AK on it. Folks go ape when they see an AK. Show them a cetme and they just go huh?

Design looks good, I hope the final product is worthy of the "militaryfirearm.com" name.

I can't help agree that a Cetme on there would be fitting. That's how a pretty good amount of us are connected with the site. Plus I don't have an FAL yet either.

Regardless of that, it does look pretty sweet.

i agree on ditching the FAL for a G3 or a CETME, keep the AR tho IMO since EV1 here probly has one but even if not ev1 will understand it....this did used to be cetmerifles.com where we just joined about CETMEs HK91s and PTR91s 'mostly'

Shmitty's design is great but a CETME in place of the FAL would be an improvement. I wear a size 7-7/8 (or 8 if anyone were to make one) so low profile hats look like a beanie on me. I prefer at least a medium profile.

design 1 and hat 2. If the design which is bordered in black ends up on a black hat, count me out...the cog looking detail would be lost. (anybody agree with me on this point?)

I agree with Steel that blk on blk wouldn't "pop", that being said I'd buy one anyway.
IMO a red hat would really look sharp-
Any chance more than one color hat would be available?

Thanks for all who have voted for me so far. It appears as though I will win, but it's not definite. (I've entered art contests at other message boards, have been in the lead initially, but barely lost at the very end of voting).

Looks like I'm going to have to start my own poll: Replace the M-16 with a Cetme or replace the FAL with a Cetme.


I'm too lazy to go back and respond to everyone who spotted the differences, but they are:
*Actual dots on the mil-dot reticules rather than lines
*Two bonus rivets right below the ".COM"
*I separated the cog from touching the rest of the logo at the bottom of the top semi-circle and at the little doo-dad at the bottom.
*And the last, not very noticable one is, the two rifles don't have a dark gray outline on the newest version while they did on the old one (lack of gray border makes edges look more crisp

Anyone who spotted any of them get's 10 points and a virtual high-five. :D

There are multiple colors for each hat. Except for the camo. Hat two with strips colors are- white, blue and black w/ different color strips. Hat three-white, black, blue, red, green, khaki. Four-black khaki navy white.

i know this is slightly off topic, but it goes with the new logo designs....

what about making vinal stickers with them? the problem is, the design is wayyyy to hard, it'd have to be one color, and maybe then it'd be enough, if not, it'd have to be simpler to keep it cheap... if anyone else is interested, we can create a new thread and talk about it there

I think we all might need to pony up a couple extra bucks per hat to pay for the design work... I think more than a few hours were put into the logo design... at the very least none of those guys need to pay for their hat. JMO. oh and same goes for rifleman for putting it all together.

Cool! Thanks for putting the CETME in. I was going to suggest it but some artistes (heavy French accent) are tempermental on critiques.:wink: I like all things that go boom, but the CETME deserves its place on the hat.
