any one know where to buy these a la carte? they have a star on the side, mebbe they're chinese. black painted metal. use 10rnd stirppers like you can use on the Yus SKS.

I've only seen them sold with other AK accessireos, never alone (prolly becaus thy're cheap)

Anyone tried them? Are they worth using?

Steelcore, I got a lula loader for my ak mags and my ar mags, they aint cheap but when you get the hang of useing them they work well. They are aobut twenty five bucks or so.

SO you say they don't work as in 'not at all? '

I've noted that the spring on the avg. AK mag is stiffer than the one in the SKS internal mag. I just wanted to play with one and see if it was any better/faster than singly loading them in there.

Have you ever worked with the strippers to use them for loading rounds into an SKS? I have the trick down, and hav culled my strippr stock of any that would jam on feeding...(I wonder if the probs you had was with the strippers or the loader)

I might take you up on that offer, K98...thanks.

Been loading strippers in SKS since about 1990. Tried everything to get them to work in an Ak. Ask on one of the AK sites, they will all tell you the same thing. The only ones that work are the 5.45 ones that are mil issue. And of course aftermarket loaders like the lula.

I'm not gonna bother if the AK pros like you and others can't get them working. luckily, I bought some of those hi-qlauity 20rnd tanker mags for me up-n-coming AK purchase! Let's say its on lay away...

The first ten go in pretty easy,so if you were using ten rounders it would work well. It's always the second ten that hang up after 3 or 4 pop in.

Steelcore, I think you need to get the red sore thumbs from loading lots and lots of ak mags, just the problem is now that the ammo is expensive. :)

Yeah...buddy got a 75 rnd drum mag for his AK, thri CTD...you have to advance the thing for each round you put in...ouch! Ideally takes two to load it. after all that, ya blow ema ll in lke 20 seconds! If yer fast, you can gat about 5-8 cases in the air at once.

As fer ammo prices, yeah, 15-20cents per is doable, at least after watching 762NATO go thru the roof and out of sight. I can get 1K rnds at the shows for about 160USD, which I find acceptable.

I like to shoot milsurps, and I got into the Mosin world after looking at the prices on ammo. So I actually chose the ammo, then the rifle! Then the mosin bug gets ya...and now Im getting a pretty good crosscut of CommBloc rifles.

On my 75 rnd mag I pop the lid, load the rounds in, close the lid and wind the spring. Your buddies sounds horrible.

Nevada, you have a chinese, Steelcores buddy has a europian, thus you load and click, load and click until you are loaded, a chinese can be loaded and not even tensioned until you wind it up.
