Can you guys help me ID some ammo. It appears to be 7.62 NATO/.308 Win. one casing has a headstamp of F 78 41 with the circle cross, the other has the head stamp of NWM 64 with the circle cross. The first was purchased for $80.00 for 240 rds, the second was a gift of about half a 50 cal ammo can from my sgt.

NWM is dutch, thus nato spec, the other I am still looking for,
could be australian, or flocchi, dont think frankfort arsnal made any, but could also be a couple more. THe boxes might be better, but nato makes it one of the first two(I think australian had nato stamps, if not then I would bet flocchi.

It doesn't have the circled cross on it. SA is good stuff isn't it?

Most military 308 will work as it should have anneled shoulders and might be made to 7.62 nato specs over .308 winchester specs, the win has thinner necks and on some semiautos will seperate there. Thus the nato spec is thicker necked and anneled shoulder. The southafricans adopted a pethloria of 7.62x51 rifles to include the fal, g-3(for some operations)
