I don't know how to do it but how about a looking down the end of a barrel pic. With rifleings and a front sight?

I've got some homework to get done and then I'll try a few things. I've got some 3D modeling software that might work for Steve's idea.

I'm thinking the new logo should include a Cetme in some form being that this site arose from the ashes of Cetmerifles.

Things are starting to fall into place slowly...this software is a big learning curve and Perro is working :) I'm getting there...I like the idea.

I think he was just giving you a hard time that you called him a "guy" instead of John Moses Browning.

Realize I was being given a hard time! My wife catches ladies flirting with me and I never knew that was happening either! I should pay more attention maybe! Who knows what I am missing! :D

Tanker,
I like the idea of having a CETME in the new Logo. Artfully endowed I am NOT, so someone may wish to take this idea and run with it. How about a PHEONIX (arising from the ashes as we are) that is bearing a CETME to a fresh (and growing) brood of young in the nest. That brood being comprised of the diverse military firearms that this site will now encompass. What thinkist the masses??

How about a logo with an AR15 in it in honor of Perro. ;)

I think we should have a submission thread and use the top (however many) graphics on a rotating basis . . . .

Knobby, I like your new Avatar. You know, losing the old board was bad, but every dark cloud has a silver lining.

As for a logo, I would like to see a CETME in the new logo (somewhere) as that is how most of use got to this board in the first place. As someone on this board put it.. 'The CETME/G3 was the west's AK 47' He was right , we the western powers got a tough, compact and reliable weapon in our powerfull 7.62 NATO round. It served us well.. Anyway I am glad to see some of the old familiar avatars again.. Now the board is begining to seem like home.
Glad to see you guys again.

I like the idea of K98 with the Phoenix rising from the ashes with flames up the side and holding a cetme in its beak with a motto below. Maybe a good spot for "Moulon Labe"? or something along the lines.

I absoultely suck fooling around with pics, but how about a flag waving with the same image that is on our last batch of shirts with the dates cetmerifles started and ended under the image on the flag flying over a wall rack of assorted military rifles?

I'll give it a shot in the upcoming week. I'm still not much at drawing, but I'll give it a shot anyways.

No doubt it has to have a CETME. This site wouldn't exsist if it wasn't for the CETME.

For all of you artists out there, the banner should be no more than 800 pixels wide with the ability to blend in with a background color. This is so the image can be set to automatically center and let everyone with any monitor size view the whole thing. For those of us with big monitors, the background gradient will fill the blank space.

aw jezze, i posted this in a different thread, but it fits here better i think.
my bad. i didnt change it, so ignore the parts that dont apply.

seems early to set a logo in stone yet. IMHO
i think of the logo and banner as seperate ideas anyway.
a bunch of folks are good with graphics in this family,
some havent crossed-over yet, im sure.
maybe toss some ideas around for a bit......
we did that for the COG logo.
some put in thier own designs,
some created designs from the members suggestions.
then we voted on the one we liked best. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
one thing to keep in mind is it has to look good on a tshirt/sticker.
"think line-drawing" color art is $$$$$$
as for the banner,
i like the background red/orange, and font,
but i see sillouettes(sp) in the foreground more like Platoon,
or Band of Brothers in the mist.
you know, with the guys walking single-file, carrying different
firearms, some slung over the shoulder etc.
(you can Pshop anything in their hands, ak, bar, mg42...)
that leaves room on the left for a mission statement, logo, etc.
M1, what size/restrictions are their on that banner?
is it possilbe to post/link what you have so far, (1/1 scale)
so people can fart around with some ideas?

well, i took a screen capture to see if i could mess around a bit,
and to see what it looked like on "paper". ive got corel 7, and PS 5.5,
but i have no real idea what im doing.... btw, WTF is a layer? ROTFLMAO
im a paste/smudge/clone kind of guy.
dont mind me, just having some fun with it. and its just a draft anyway.
the platoon thing made me think of "us" working/walking twards a common goal.
should have put it a bit more to the right, and had it go into the horizon,
forever into the distance.
as if to say, "we are here, we are together, and we are not going away"
(platoon the game btw, cant remember which box, but think atari days,
back when we put quarters in machines to play, and coke came in sexy glass bottles.
damn i feel old LOL)
