Wouldn't there have to be specific allegations of criminal acts cited for there to be grounds for impeachment?

Well if they beleive in the constition, which they don't. I suspect they want the constitution impeached to.

Well, part of it is they want payback for the Clinton debacle...and I guess part of it is that they firmly believe that Bush lied...but I don't see what they can come up with in terms of impeachable offenses.

I don't think Clinton should have been impeached, cause it was political grandstanding...but now Republican have to pay the piper cause they let open the impeachment floodgates.

Well, when you impeach a Pres for lying about a BJ, don't be surprised when people want an impeachment for what they feel is lying about a war.

This impeachment talk is just that...it's going nowhere...nothing but political grandstanding is all it is. Playing to fringe groups.:jam:

This is just more knee jerk action to make it look like these lazy bastards are actually doing something important. Just more hot air from a state legislature.

Interesting question though. Didn't the Civil War start along the same lines with the state legislatures saying they did not believe in the policies of the administration in office in Washington at the time?

Clinton lied to congress, that should have gotten him. Nothing else matters, he lied to congress. :(

I am a True Blue Repuplican and have been so since 1976. So I was no fan of the Clinton company ( But I did not hate him) I agree with Woodman the impeachment of Clinton for lying about that buxom girl lowered the bar. Now we are going to pay the price for a shot term gain back in the late 90s. If they can get the votes they will now impeach any Repuplican president now and future.
It is just a tool in their box of tools to keep power.
