Looks like the same thing Sarco sells for $199

I was at their sight but couldn't find it. I know the slides are pretty good. I don't know much about this product but I'll ask.

I agree with texlurch, sounds a little too much like other kits, but pricer. Their listed price is more than I paid for my slightly used Rock Island high cap too.

It's not a bad deal to get your feet wet, but nowadays I just start with an Essex or Caspian frame and slide and go from there. Not near as cheap, but nicer product in the end.

My SARCO parts gun is still running like a top.

I just ordered enough parts to put together a 1911 on a stripped frame.

I also priced parts to make a kit from Wilson Combat parts. Priliminary pricing looks to be about $775 plus shipping. I still need to go through the list again, but at first glance, it looks pretty good. By the way, this is for ALL Wilson Combat parts, minus the grips and the frame.

A little pricey compared to the Sarco kits, but Wilson's cheapest 1911 retails at $2245. Wilson still does a lot of hand fitting on all of their pistols, so I'm sure there would be some fitting required on assembly.

I'm sure the price could come down by getting some minor parts from other sources. When I get a better handle on it, I will post more.

I did my own using a Caspian slide/frame and parts kit. I used a Ed Brown 10mm barrel and the other parts were all ed brown, wilson, chip mccormick, etc, depending on who had exactly what I wanted. The pistol came in above budget, but it shoots great. It is a hoot to shoot withy full power 10mm rounds. Even killed a deer with it last year at 50yards. It truely shoots better then I ever will and hits with over 700 ft.lbs of evergy. What more could I ask for?

I am working on a Commander right now with all Wilson guts, stainless slide and frame from Essex. Looking good so far, but plenty of fitting and blending to go. I think I will try my hand at checkering the front strap on this one also...

you can get a new rock island for $350 or get a sarco kit and a sarco frame and you can build one for $300.00 (I think tex is right looks like a sarco kit to me)
