I bought a laser that came with a clamp that goes on a barrel. The barrel I have is I tad too small for the clamp.
I filed down the clamp as much as I could and it its tight but am sure when I fire the rifle it will move.
There is a cloth like tape in the clamp. What can I put in the clamp to make it tighter? It wont take much.

Have any shim stock? A cut to fit solution that comes in different thicknesses.
Bicycle inner tube cut to fit?

i would go with the shim stock or maybe use some thin tin to make shims.
the cloth like tape that is on it wont last long if it clamps to the barrel.i had a bipod that had that tape on it and the first 30 round mag through the WASR the tape was done, melted.
the rubber inner tube isnt a bad idea either.

Use some aluminum foil. Fold it up into the thickness you need. That is an everyday item and you won't have to worry about the heat. Cut it with some scissors for a nice edge. Shim stock is available in plastic or metal and comes in various thicknesses. You cut a piece to fit. We have all kinds at work and some even thinner than "tin foil".
I'd cut a strip just a bit narrow than your mount and wrap it around the barrel until it is thick enough.

Not the easiest to explain. It's flat metal stock used to shim different things. It comes in different materials. ie:brass, alum, SS, usually in 6" widths x 4" or in a roll. Also comes in different thicknesses .002", .005", .010" among others.
If you can't find local, let me know approx. size and thickness you need and I'll dig some up.

And it also comes in different thickness!
