Definitely wood. I am a traditionalist, I like the look and feel of wood, although if I was packing one in combat, plastic would probably be preferable.

TS,
What's the problem man. You only got two choices that I see.
Have one rifle and two sets of furniture so you can change out according to your mood.
OR
Two rifles, one with each type of furniture so you can take which ever one suits you at the time.
Simple fix huh?

The plastic is nice for lugging around and the "big black gun" look scares the neighbors, but for looks and target shooting the wood is my choice.

I like the wood better, but I'm close to going EBR on mine.

I like the original wood better. Try finding a wood grip for it and then there'd be no question!

though,, this is my first Cetme im going to add another one to this one but it
will have a more support role to it . i agree i like the wood on this rifle better .

When I first got my CETME, I couldnt wait to ditch the wood and get a plastic G3 set on there. I thought the plastic stocks made them look cool and modern and tactical and what-have-you
I had the plastic on there for a few months, and then found myself strangely missing the wood. Ive had the orginal wooden set on there ever since :)
I think the wood just kinda adds a rugged, old world, manly sort of feel to it. Ive come to the conclusion that all rifles look better in wood, both military and sporting rifles
but that's not to say that I dont occasionally swap them out. that's the beauty of having both; you can switch them out in under a minute easily

I normally prefer wood... BUT in the case of the Cetme, I 100% love the feel of the plastic wide handguard over the wood anyday. I do swap the wood back on occasionally for target shooting as I have a Harris mounted on it, but 99% of the time It stays in the camo plastic... I also have the cherokee cheekpiece and it only fits on the G3 plastic buttstock, so the butt stays all the time.
I like the look of wood better, but when it comes down to it, Id choose plastic any day...
ps I carry a Glock, so go figure

I'm like you TS308. I want 2 guns that have each. There's nothing like the feel of wood, but nothing like the durability of plastic.

Wood on the CETME, plastic on the PTR. Wood thumps heads better any day.

The Modelo C CETME was originally issued with beautiful well functioning wood, and a black plastic pistol grip. It works as issued very very well.
HK G3s are not out of ANYONES budget. You can get a PTR91 built on HK spec liscensed tooling from FMP in Portugal. It will be identical to a HK91 receiver. They are only $750.00
an owner of a CETME Modelo C who REALLY wants a G3 with all the ninja plastic on it truely owes it to themselves to buy themselves a G3 too which allows them to have the plastic on the G3, and the original wood on the Modelo C. You will learn to appreciate BOTH for what they really are.
that is all im prepared to say about this topic at the moment :D

I am guilty of tacticalizing my CETME with a folding stock, wide handguard, etc, but I made up for it with a wood-stock G3, and also a scoped G3 with a cheekpiece, now I need to finish my last 2 parts kits for a slimline handguard build, and an OD green stock set build.

On my Cetme it is going to stay wood, I also have one of those Black Widows with the plastic, I like to keep them next to each other so I can say old world, new world, same rifle just different wheels. My 700 BDL has that real nice wood on it, my savage has plastic, you got to wonder about weather conditions, and those litttle bumps and knocks. I carry the Savage on those hunts where I might have a mishap, when we drive straight to the blind, the Remi. gets the trip.I like wood the best, but I think plastic will hold up better. JUST MY .02

Not sure why, but I just love the plastic! My plain Jane black widow is my sweetheart. I put rubber grips on my 1911, and am going to convert my 10-22 to a Hogue rubber set up. In most things, I love pretty wood, but in guns, it's gotta be black - and plastic or rubber, either one are fine with me!

I love the wood on my CETME, and the plastic on my Rem 700. Ninja plastic is the AR. :)
