Used the BFA and Dag blanks today to do function testing on three "in the works builds" that were ready to go to the range. The DAG blanks, with the BFA completely closed off, will function the CETME's and the G3 perfectly. The best thing is that with hearing protection on, it is no louder than a cap gun. Felt recoil is about like shooting a .22. I put 40 rounds through each gun and readily identified a bolt carrier sticking to the rear problem on one. Bolt gap reduced on all three from .020, set up at build, to .017 on all three and they seemed to settle in there. Now that is corrected and they are for sure ready to go to the range for sight alignment/check and further function testing. Boy, what a cheap alternative to live ammo, and it's pretty handy to be able to test fire the weapons in the shop. I figure if they will function on the blanks they should handle live ammo with no problems. The stuff is pretty dirty, but again, if the rifle continues to function with all that powder residue, it's just another positive test in my opinion.

Come on BLADE, Post a video of it. That would ROCK.

I might just do that, if I can figure out how to post a video...also because I'm still trying to figure out how the port buffers are contacting the cases, it happens so fast that I can't really tell for sure what is going on there, all I know is that, the welded on port buffers kick butt!! On the stainless Cetme build with no port buffer, the blanks eject straight out the side all the way across the shop and hit the wall about six feet up. On the Frankencetme and the G3, that I put the weld on buffers on, they both throw the brass out at 2 o'clock and about five to six feet to the floor.
