Vegas is really hurting right now. Check online for the best deals. The M resort is new and nice but way off the strip. Venetian is nice too but will be a little pricier unless on special. Good Luck

You'll have to visit Caeser's Palace, smells like money in there. The must have a spray. We got a two day "pass" there when my NG unit from GA went to NTC. We stayed in Henderson. Too long ago to tell you where to stay but there's so much to see and it is a destination everyone should see at least once.

Check out the full auto rentals at the indoor ranges. I liked the one just east of the strip. There are coupons in the papers. I shot the SAW and I want one...

THere is a cool Army Navy store on the NE side of town thats worth a drive to.
There a couple gunstores just west of the strip too.

Find a dealer that is local to you and take a signed copy of their FFL with you. Then is you find something you can pay for it and have it shipped to your dealer for pickup when you get home. Bad thing is you will pay sales tax, shipping, and then probably transfer fees.

went there on r&r about a month ago. found an online special at the venetian (just had to call them and say i was playing in their poker tournament) and they knocked the rate for a suite down to about what most regular rooms cost in that part of town. very nice rooms.
if you get in the mood to bet on some sports, check out the sportsbook at the palazzo. it's a really, really nice sports bar with a HUGE tv and betting windows. they also have a pretty decent menu (and cute waitresses). drinks were expnesive though. the main room has stadium seating, but with sofas instead of chairs.
the venetian has a really nice poker room with action at just about every limit you could want. it's one of the busiest rooms in town, and they have some great tournaments there.
but by far, the most fun i had there was down the street at o'shea's. they went the complete opposite direction from the rest of the strip. where the megaresorts are going for marble and gold leaf, o'shea's hired a midget to dress up in a leprechaun costume and get up on the bar and pour booze down people's throats. (no charge!) they have some of the lowest limits on the strip, and probably the softest poker game i have ever seen in my life. they even have beer pong.
if you're a music lover, check out the hard rock at least once, if only for the displays. they also have some cool shows there, the sports book sets their lines in-house so you can sometimes get a better price than the rest of the casinos, and they have absolutely the nicest poker room in town. unfortunately, when i was there, it was absolutely dead. not a single table going. too bad :(

can't give you much advice on shows and tours and stuff. all i did was drink and gamble :D

If its a long gun, you may be able to pass the gun check and you can then ship it to yourself. You can ship a firearm to your self, gunsmith and manufacturer without going through a FFL.

I just got back from Vegas sunday. Look into the hotels on the Venetian side... seemed like I spent every day going that way. Treasure Island seems to be priced nicely, the rooms arent freakin amazing, but you're not going on vacation to stay in the room all day are ya? Walk the strip a few times, coupons galore being passed out right now. I think I got 20+ drinks at the Hawaiian Tropic lounge and at least 2 meals for free. Caesers is a must see, as is the venetian. If you want to see shows I HIGHLY recommend Mystere by Cirque Du Soleli(sp?). It has a bit for everybody. I also saw Phantom, which if you like that kinda thing its amazing. NEVER buy tickets to shows from the box office at the casino, there are Vegas Tix 4 Less locations all across town... often times half price tix. If you like Sushi, hit Hyakumi in Caesars, if you like chinese/cantonese/thai hit Noodle House No9, also in Caesars. The Venetian has B&B restorante (Mario Batali's joint) and a couple of Emril Lagassi's places (Delmonico and Table 10) I didn't make it to Delmonico but the other two were amazing.

If you wanna break a little more bank on the room check out the Trump, quiet no casino, bout a block off the strip but damned fine rooms. Friends stayed there, their freakin room had a guest bathroom and Wolf appliances...they had a sub-zero fridge for gods sake. Good cheap eatin' is to be had at NYNY especially if you like NY style pizza and a NY style Deli. The piano bar in NYNY is also quite good. Also if you love a good Beer the upstairs bar in NYNY seemed to have about 50 on tap...the only place I've ever gotten Purple Haze draft....ummmm hazy beer...

Hit the free events for sure, the mirage volcano, every hour on the hour after 9, Bellagio Fountains, which seemed to go off every darned 15 minutes or so, TI has a free pirate/siren show, if you are there when it starts check it out, but don't wait around for it...cause its not so great. The Mirage has Sigfried and Roy's Dolphin, and tiger habitat which was well worth the 14 bucks to me... Bellagio have a fine art museum, that seemed like a great idea but at 15 bucks and only 15 exhibits...ehhh cmon. Madame Tussauds wax museum is pretty fun though, and kinda creepy at the same time. Make sure to go in the Wynn and Encore...those places smell amazing for some reason, but watch out for 8 dollar beers and 20 buck mojitos.

Anywho I could ramble on all night about Vegas, here's a few pics from the trip as well.
