View Full Version : Speer 100 grain .308 plinkers in .303

Well the speer 100 grain plinkers worked very well out to 50 yards. I used a .308 neck die and sized the .303 brass. Loaded 15 grains of Blue Dot and the speer plinkers were shooting 1 inch groups out to 50 yards. I think the wind started getting them past there.

I also tried 147 grain FMj's I pulled from some crap .308 and they shot fair out to 100 yards. About a 2 inch group. Same powder charge of 15 grains Blue Dot. The plinkers were right on though and the 147's were low and right. Worth playing with being I have close to 400 of them.

I have used the Plinkers in .30WCF and .30 Carbine with great results. They make up a fun load. Used the .30 Carbine on jack rabbits.
