My new gun show aqusition...

Yesterday I went to the Austin gun show planning on buying some ammo and browse around at some Garands. As I am leaving, a man walks in with a nice Winchester made M1917 Enfield. It still has all cartouches and the barrel is clearly marked "8-18". I took out the bolt and the rifling is very good and the crown of the barrel is also very good. Well, I snatched that rifle right on up and gave it a new home in my Milsurp collection.

She cost me $500. I saw another M1917 that a dealer was selling for $700 which was a mix-master and not as nice as the one I got.

They have 2 Winchesters in my gun shop that are 800+ are they are in nowhere near as good condition

I can't believe how nice that 1917 is considering the price you paid for it. That is also one of the holes in my U.S. Milsurp collectio. I am envious.
