I vaguely remember a post in the old forum with some pictures of a tool for pressing the barrel into the trunion on a CETME. Does anyone remember or have the pictures of how it was done? I think it might have been a thread from Perro...

What is getting getting pressed when you press the barrel?
Is it the barrel into the trunion or is it the trunion into the receiver?

The trunion gets welded into the receiver, and the barrel gets pressed into the trunion.
the best and most accurate tool for the job is a hydraulic press.
If you are a cheap ass or don't have space, or just enjoy doing things the hard way, you can also use something like this:

If you press the barrel in too far , do you keep pressing forward till it's out or do you have to go backwards?

Keep pressing in the same direction as you started and push it on out. Never press anything in the opposite direction as it was first started. You will gaul the metal. That is due to the tight tolerances. This is a universal norm not just for CETME barrels.

I've got a 12 ton hydraulic press (cheap ass Harbor Frieght, but it works) :D
But that's the picture I was talking about.
