Hey guys

Ive got a persuasive speech to do for class, and have decided to do it on HR 1022 and gun control.

So I would like any information and links people have on HR 1022, opinions on both sides of it (reputable sources prefered over blogs), history of gun control in the USA, Effects of gun control in the US and elsewhere (good and bad). Stats on gun violence and the sort would be useful as well.

Thanks guys, appreciate any info people have. Gonna be researching on my own as well, but I figure I have access to a few thousand years of gun experience collectivly thru the members of this forum, and worth askin.

Discussion from the Boston who got fired for his views on violence to fight violence.

Go to Youtube and seach "Nicholas Winset" for the four vids.

His quote "If you are attacked you shuold fight back." as an add, you should have the means at your disposal to fight back.

Apparently, defending yourself is falling out of favor with the 'victim' crowd.

BOSTON (AP) - An adjunct professor was fired after leading a classroom discussion about the Virginia Tech shootings in which he pointed a marker at some students and said "pow."
The five-minute demonstration at Emmanuel College on Wednesday, two days after a student killed 32 people on the Virginia Tech campus, included a discussion of gun control, whether to respond to violence with violence, and the public's "celebration of victimhood," said the professor, Nicholas Winset.

During the demonstration, Winset pretended to shoot some students. Then one student pretended to shoot Winset to illustrate his point that the gunman might have been stopped had another student or faculty member been armed.

Student Junny Lee, 19, told The Boston Globe that most students didn't appear to find Winset's demonstration offensive.
