View Full Version : CETME questions
Hey guys, I`m new to CETME`s but I`m really starting like them. I have a couple of questions: On a Century built rifle, the front of the trunion is welded to the receiver and there is no sign of spot welds or a barrel pin. How would you go about replacing the barrel? Also, is there a way to decrease gap size if I have a bulk gap at .016-.018?
Thank you for all your replys. I have already learned a lot from all of your threads.

:welcome: Greg. The barrel pin is there, you'll have to grind some to find it, it was welded over. With that gap, I'd be thrilled, if you wanna decrease it, get a few cases of ammo and shoot them. Send me the brass later. :) Almost all of your questions can be answered in the tech forum or by using the search. hope this helps.

If you do not have a ground bolt head and that is the actual bolt gap, you do not want to change it. That is the amount of bolt gap everyone is trying to get.
On pressing the barrel, there are posts on finding the barrel pin and what to do after you find it.

the barrel pin was never welded over
they never drilled the holes for the barrel pin in the new us made receiver
they just pushed an already barreled trunnion into the receiver, and welded it in
i cant give advice on how to find it - some folks messed there receivers up from my measurements - seems barrel pins are drilled in different spots in at least 2 different trunnions
but basically, you need to find where the barrel pin is and drill the receiver out for it in the same place so you can drive the barrel pin out should you ever need to
thanks for the replies, the bolt which came with it measured .002 the one which measured .018 is from CFS parts kit. Is it allright change these out? Neither of the bolts are ground.
