I have a few 48 sportsman trap guns. The bigger one a 12 gauge I hunted with alot when I was kid and took plenty of deer and rabbits with it. well a few years back it developed this strange problem. When you have a round in the chamber and 2 in the mag. tube. If you fire one round it loads the second but when the elevator latch carries the second shot into the path of the bolt the 3rd shot ejects out the loading port.

I have tried everyting to fix this with negative results. I have called remington and all the leads they gave me for parts ran dry. I have also searched brownells. Nothing. I think it is the interceptor (Shell catch) lever. does anyone know where I could run across one of these?

Try these:
http://www.remingtonsociety.com/rsa/service
http://www.gun-parts.com/remingtonshotgun
http://www.corsonsbarrels.com/remmiscbarrels.htm

Or in August on the 1st and 2nd go to the Puyallup fairgrounds and in the WAC gunshow you might find the parts you need.

Can you post a pic of the parts you need? I may be able to help you out on it. I have an 11-48 trigger group I am going to use on a subgun build and the shell pusher up lever and stuff is in excellent working order. I cannot use those parts either.

I will call a few of those places today. I will also try and get a few pics up but I'm having a hard time removing the interceptor latch. The left one came out just fine.

Also, I wish I could attend the Gun Show in Washington. I have since moved to Arlington, Va. God I miss fishing the Cedar River in July. Thanks for the info.

Wow really. I am sorry that it took me so long to respond. Moving and such. I will post pics tonight. I have polished the bolt stripped it down for a good cleaning. I also think I am going to re-blue the gun. Should be a good project. thanks above for the web sites. I will post pics when I am done.

so I have gotten these parts in. How do you remove this part? It has a small hole in the top side but I can't seem to get the pin out. What gives.
