Well the Sacramento gunshow usually Sucks, Bad, great if you like Tupperware, Dolls and Airsoft, but usually could just burn the $16 it costs to get in and sleep in. But, I'm a glutton for punishment, so I went Saturday, What do I spy right in the door a rifle that I have been wanting for awhile, to shoot up some 8mm ammo I have, a Hakim.

I look at it and the tag says $325, that can't be right, it looks pretty good too, could use a good cleaning, then I read the small print.... Missing Bolt,
I was like, damn, oh well, I'll think about it as I walk through the show, and if it is still there when I go to leave I'll look at it closer. Well an hour later as I'm leaving I walk over to the table, yep, still there, I figure what the hell, it's all complete, if I can't find a bolt, I'll part it out, I should be able to get my money back. So here it is, I found a bolt on GunBroker, I just hope the headspace is good with the new bolt. It looks real good, it even has some kind of locks on the action screws, I think maybe it was imported without the bolt, I can't imagine someone would take it out and lose it, but stranger things have happened.

Those things have really gone up, I found one years ago that looked brand new, not refinished, there wasn't a scratch on it, for $700, that would be a deal now, Oh I forgot the pics.....

I've got 3 Hakims and really like them. Good shooters, that and I like the 8mm mauser round. You want to set your gas valve as low as possible to avoid extractor damage.

Never seen one up in these parts. If I did, it was in good condition and was going for a reasonable price, I would have it already. I've participated in several bidding frenzies for ones on Gunbroker and finally bowed out. I refuse to pay more for a Hakim than an M1 Garand or FN-49!!! Some day, if it's meant to happen, it will...
