I was looking for a second M71/84 to make into a wall hanger for one of my grandsons. I'd already put one together and promised it to my other grandson, so before there was any jealousy... So I ordered one the $19.00 ones from SOG, hoping it would be fairly complete.
I got it today and was really surprised, the only thing missing on it was the top barrel band, wedge, and the magazine tube/stacking plug. Of course the bolt isn't included, but I mocked one up for the other one, so making another fake bolt won't be to hard.
Here's the bad parts, the end of the magazine tube is rusted off and the end of the stock is a little chewed up. The rest of the stock is beat all to hell, but solid as a rock, no cracks and the only split is up at the top where the rusted magazine tube is. Of course it is filthy as all get out and covered in surface rust, but it doesn't look too pitted.
After a good scrubbing and de-rusting it'll make a good wall hanger.

Take a photo now. Then when you complete your wall-hanger you can post before and after photos.

It's pretty bad, I broke two screwdriver tips trying to disassemble the darned thing. Shattered... I finally was able to get the butt plate off and am electro-cleaning it now. The rest of the screws are being dosed with liquid wrench every couple of hours... I'm afraid I'll have to drill them out. :crying:
