You are right, soooo tempting.
I want one sooo bad that I am thinking of building one but all the pieces cost almost as much. Actually with the 2nd mag and compliance parts it is probably cheaper.
If Century didn't have such a questionable reputation I would buy one but after the amount of work I had to do on my CETME I know how they can get it wrong.
But it is one of the best prices I have seen.
Probably best if I forget this post.....lol.

Dont worry about century's rep with the C93. They are excellent guns, best ever put out by CAI. Check out my shot groups here http://www.militaryfirearm.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=13041

Why, oh why, did you go and post this!?!?!? Guess I'll be spending a few more nights in the dog house over this...

Seriously, thanks for the heads up,

Four years ago I bought a Vector Arms V93 - essentially a Vector built HK33; nice shooter. Mine cost me $900; someone special ordered it but didn't buy it so I got if for about $300 less then what they ordered it for.

It came with the fixed stock; but for $200+ the collapsable HK stock fits like a glove. The 40 round aluminum magazines are $20-$30 cheaper then the 30 round factory steel targets...

Man they are tempting. I would have to build one and take my time to fund the project like my others that are hanging in parts kit LOMBO.

You just had to tell us that, really making it hard resist. Seriously thanks for the info.
Looks like I am leaning more towards buying then building. That's ok though as I'll be shooting sooner....lol.

I would get one right now, but I'm saving up for an XCR at the moment. I want something that has a nice trigger, is easy to mount a scope (and bipod and light) to, and that is accurate out to a few hundred yards.

That being said, that C93 sure looks sexy with that green furniture! I like the way that gun looks, especially with the 40 rounder. It reminds me of the STG44.

Best of luck to you all on getting one, and be sure to post a report if you get one!

C93/HK93 also have fluted chambers? Do they handle steel case ammo well?

Yes both fluted chambers. They still beat up brass like a 91 but not as bad, and they dont get thrown 6 lanes down. I put a couple steel wolfs down the pipe, no issues; cycled and ejected fine.

The mags are special HK mags although Gilliebear and Hart1 over on HKPro are selling an adapter/modification that allows use of AR mags.
The 93 isn't picky as the 91 on ammo, it is supposed to shoot pretty much anything. Although I imagine that any sealed with tar or extra dirty are going to gum up the flutes and foul-up operation like it will on a G3/91 or Cetme.

No ak/ar mags. Sadly the mags for this are $35-50 a piece. They come from Century with 2x 40 rounders and I have seen 20 and 30's. The 40's arent too condusive to bench shooting as they are real tall, I used it as a monopod. I have fired LC, wolf steel, M193, and some other kind I forgot out of it with no problems. It still puts a ding in the side and neck of some cases like the .308 versions. I would say because the .223 brass is smaller and less powerful than a .308 you should be able to fire commercial stuff. Keep a broken shell extractor handy just in case.

They're Malaysian kits built on SW-93 flats with RimCountry barrels.

Mags are :o
40rd were the issue mags and are available as surplus $25~$35. From there the price goes up as the capacity goes down; 30rds~$65, 25rds~$75, 5rds, ~$110. There were some HK 10rds during the ban years, but they are unobtainium.
