Finished it today,build No.20.

Another 5.56 to add to the mix.(Poodle shooter!) This weapon has an adustable gas system, and notched selector that acts as a bolt hold open when flipped up,with the bolt held back .Oddly the Yugo 5.56 mags do not have the bolt stopping follower.

The build went pretty well, the underfolder stock was tough to get the pins out,I suppose because this was a new unfired kit. The barrel pin was easy like most Yugos, but the barrel was TOUGH to get out.

Because the NoDakspud Y556 reciever is actually a modified M70 unit.I had to do the usual mods for the M90-M95. Relieve the cross rivet, reshape the hammer. Vair65 welded up the mag catch for me,Thanks Man!. I had to cut out the selector plate so the mag catch sits on the bottom of the reciever.
The mags must be flush to the bottom of the rails,so the bolt does not overide the rounds.

I have one more Yugo Underfolder to build after this, and then I will be done with the Yugos.

and notched selector that acts as a bolt hold open when flipped up,with the bolt held back.

I'm trying to picture this in my mind. It lock the bolt to the rear for cleaning/ inspection not during firing? Like the lock button on the AR types but activated with the selector?

The M90 uses an adjustable gas collet that fits into the gas block of the weapon. The gas piston of the bolt carrier in turn, fits into the collet. The collet is retained in it's setting by a externally mounted spring steel clip riveted to the gas tube. The collet has two holes in it, of different sizes, that allow gas from the port to impinge on the gas piston.

The gas settings are as follows
1 This setting is for normal operation
2 This setting is for operation when very dirty,or for less powerful ammunition.
T This setting is for grenade launching. Complete gas cut off. There is no hole in the collet in this setting.

There is no built in grenade sight as in the M70 series. I would assume that a separate launcher with sight was issued as an accessory.

Picture one, gas collet
Picture two, the separate components.
Picture three, the system installed.

Nodakspud is out of the recievers, with no plans to make more. There is a thread on Gunco where they are getting a list together of folks that want one. I think the majic number is 150.

A M70 reciever can be used, the ejector must be enlarged by building up with weld, and the cross rivet must have the front of it reduced for the mags to clear it.

Vair65 and I are going to test fire it,and the new A2 Friday. I will give you guys a range report afterwards.

I like it K and thanks for the added pictures. So its not like a FAL adjustment, but a step up from an M14's. Man, I like those I wish I would have gotten a kit :( Live and learn....again.
