Took a month to make this, but it's awesome! Used a derivative of the Sweetwater IPA recipe.

You guys have got me envious of your skills.
My beer and ale making days ended when I tried to make pilsner style that was un-drinkable when I finished.

I just had my batch of Irish Stout mature and it turned out great! I don't know what it is about drinking your own beer, wine, or shine but it always tastes great! Its just satisfying drinking the fruits of your labor. :icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin:

Beer is like food... Homemade is always better than store bought.

Yeah... That's one thing about the home brew... Two pints and you're buzzin good.

Agreed. It always comes out stronger than the store-bought stuff, especially here in Oklahoma with our weak 3.5% ABV crap. My first batch was around 7% or 8%, but since then I've broken my hydrometer so I can't take a reading anymore. All I know now is that it takes a lot less to get me buzzed.

You weren't perhaps a tad buzzed when you broke said hydrometer wwere you?

What do you guys use to brew? A store bought kit or your own setup?

I need another hobby like I need a hole in my head, but I love a good beer... seems like a good fit.

No, just clumsy. :icon_razz:

I used a store bought kit, but you could very easily make your own setup for much cheaper, I just opted for the store-bought because I didn't have my tools with me. Basically, two plastic buckets, a lid, an airlock, and some clear plastic tubing are all you really need. Or you could go a much fancier route with glass carboys and whatnot, but I like to keep it simple and cheap.

Yeah, I go the cheap route too with the food grade plastic buckets and such. I also buy the pre-made kits, they are still pretty cheap, $29-45 range. All the experimenting is already done and the ingredients are all in the right proportions to make a good beer beverage. Its all out there, from lagers to stouts. We have a local brewing shop that carries everything and will help you out answering questions and getting started.
