I know we can't post links to auctions but if you search on gunbroker for "mauser sniper" theres one thats chambered in 7.62x39. I didn't know it could be rebarreled like that.

I think shotgun news was selling 7.62x39 Mauser conversions in the 1990s.
If my memory serves me right they were from Syria or some other Arab nation.
Midway sold 7.62x39 Mauser barrels in 90s advertised as a way to build a cheap shooter and take advatage of the flood of surplus Warsaw Pact ammo

Thanks for the info. I'd never heard of them with that caliber. Mostly the converted Mausers I've seen are .308, 30-06 or the numerous hunting calibers.

That looks like a Polish Radom. Interesting conversion. Just like the other guys said, I have only seen .308 and .30-06 conversions.

Numich still has 7.62x39 barrel for small ring mausers. I'm making a conversion now. Will require a long extractor as well. Ammo is not that cheap anymore, but still a fun project.

I did a conversion with a FR-7, with just a barrel insert, it worked well....
