Man, I am so pissed at how pussified our military has gotten. Its all a dog and pony show anymore. Tell the civys to get the hell out like we did in WWII thru OIF 1, anyone left is a badguy and we will f*ck you up. Stick around? Tough sh*t, bring a 155 round to allah.

While I am totally behind killing any Islamist bass turd that pops his head up, involvement in Afghanistan/Pakistan has never ended well for any western force in 1000 years.
The British tried controlling the region and failed.
The Soviets had up to 100,000 troops inside Afghanistan and unknown numbers just over their border availible as needed. And the Soviets did not give a corroded aeronautical copulation about civilian deaths or "colateral damage".
They sustained almost 15,000 dead, 53,000 wounded and several hundred thousand seriously ill from things like typhoid and hepititus. The losses in major items like aircraft, tanks & armor and such were significant. A major problem in Russia are the tens of thousands of Russian Afghan Vets suffering the effects of their service.
Bin Laden built a safe haven there 30 years ago by moving his key officers in and even marrying into the local tribes.
As much as rooting them out might feel good the goal of doing it is pretty much unwinable
Part of what made Iraq a good idea was drawing them out to fight on a battlefield where we had a better chance.
If the military were free to operate properly, an action somewhere like Sudan or elsewhere could be effective but I do not see it happening before we have a major change in government.
Let's not squander our best on a fight they can't win.

The government wants somewhere to send it's patriots, the ones that love this country and feel it is an honor to serve. They want something to keep our type of people busy while our leaders steal us of rights and wealth. If the troops were home, out and discharged, they would probably be unemployed and smart enough to see what the government is really doing and show it no support. Therefore they are were they are supposely out of sight, out of mind as far as Uncle Sucker is concerned with a trail of more steadly heading over there.Afganistan is a bottomless pit but all this is just my opinion. :America:

Until they are gone from office we will all see MUCH MORE OF THIS BS from BO and his loosers!
Not meant to piss anyone off but when you are sent to FIGHT you don't leave anyone just gettin their A S _ handed to them! Put OB, Hitlery Clinton and Bill, and Pelosi where they were and I bet the air support would be dodging artillery round inbound to targets! Politicians have NEVER BELONGED ON DECISIONS OF BATTLE! If they want to change the rules then they need to man or should I say WOMAN the front line! Hell, woman make better soldiers than any BS Politician!

I and alot of other veterans are really tired of the political BS. Hell, if the government paid my flight and gave me the arms I wanted I'd go! Right NOW! But you can bet their not telling me who and what to do when I get there!

That would be like to Secret Service walking out on OB! Just not doing their job!

Political BS! I hate it!

I think we can agreee that all politicians should be kept out of tactical decisions on the ground. Thats what the unit commanders are there for. I fear that modern communications methods are making wars too "easy" to run from government centers in the various super powers. We are more advanced so we are bound to feel the effects first. But my 2 cents is let the military run the friggin military and lety the politicos support them like it is supposed to be!
