Hello ALL!

Im still having trouble logging in, and staying on, so I hope this takes.

A message from jfowl31 actually got through to me, by some miracle,
and a SITREP was requested.

I have to keep it short.
MOMS OK. BUT PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR HER!
I need say nothing more, about the Power of Prayer.

Me...

Well, I fell down the basement stairs.
Not the treads, that you walk on, mind you.
but the zig-zag ragged edge as seen from the side.

I broke 5 ribs. 7 thru 11 on the right side,
and FUBAR'ed my spine with several hairline fractures.

Any three ribs or more in a row is known as a "Flail Break Sequence".
It means that your ribcage can no longer retain its intended shape,
and protect your vital organs, during healing.

As there is no real splint for even ONE broken rib,
I have been very still for quite some time now.

I hope this message of mine finds you.
I have tried since our last contact, to no avail.
Many times..........

COK.

Last edited by -COK-; Today at 08:34 PM. Reason: cant spell for ******** on TRAMIDOL and LORAZEPAM, so piss off....

THAT is what I had been missing!!! LOL!!!

I'll keep you and your mom in my prayers. Maybe someone here has a computer they could donate to the Cook Off King so he could drop by more often? I just gave my old one to my brother, so I'm fresh out. Or is it a network issue?

Either way, I hope the frustrations won't keep you away for so long this time around. I'm glad to hear your mom is doing well...... sucks to hear about your fall though. My older brother fell through the ceiling onto the garage floor a while back and had broken ribs like that... a few in a row. That's painful stuff.

Get well, then move to Texas. We don't have basements!

Not true. I lived in North Texas for a few years. Many homes there do have basements. Part of tornado alley you know.

Weird... I've never seen a house in Texas with a basement... well except for the yuppie houses in the hills in Austin that aren't really a basement, just a lower level.

I don't travel to North Texas much though. All my family is Central or West, and a few in East Texas. Makes sense for a Tornado proof house.

Lived there with my Granny when I was kid. She would always seriously freak out whenever a warning would come over the TV. We would head down to the basement right then and there. Happen at least three or four times a year.

Some of those stairs to basements are steep with little, or no railing.

The details....... HUM?
Hows about I tell you what I remember?

I had my best budz son help me move things around in
the basement so the ROTO-ROOTER guy could get his
machine down there for the BI-Anual scrub-out.

He left the HUGE, ROUND, salt and pepper shakers I gave
his dad for hunting camp on the stairs, and thats
what my foot found, on the way down, the next morning.

I hit them stairs real hard, and spent six days in the hospital.
(with no insurance)

Its been two months, and I still feel that last rib floating freely
inside my body, as if it exists only to puncture my lungs.

So, Anyway.
How was your day?

I was doing pretty good but know I'm having flashbacks...... Been there and done that, every rib in at least three places each, some in four pieces even the short ones up top. Four holes in the lung....wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.....well, let me think about that a bit....

Anyway, good to see / hear you posting here. Always enjoy your posts.
Keep the faith and the lorazepam. Get well soon, and I'll mention Mom to the old man tonight.

Rodger that, bladeworks123

The five I broke had many Multi-Fractures also. (bamboo breaks)
Some of mine broke-away from my spine too.

It was like I was a plastic bag full of un-connected LEGO blocks,
with no true outer structure to hold them in, and together.

As if someone pulled the plug, and killed all the magnets holding
me upright, just to watch me crumble to the floor, in pain.

I am lucky in that way though, no punctured air bags from this crash.

Not much you can do for those ribs except stay down till they knit.
And take the pain pills to sleep.
Hope you get back on your feet soon and put a railing on those stairs.

You got 5 broke ribs? I had just one broke once, I can't imagine what 5 feels like.

Hope you're healing up ok.

I'm fairly new on the forum, and didn't know a thing about any of this until I started looking to see what the CETME Owners' group is all about.

If the bunch would have me, I'd like to join once you are able to get back into things. (NO rush.) Just concentrate on healing.

You know what, I am sure I got an email/thread notice about that, requesting my land addy, but I dont think I ever replied, so its my fault
that I dont have them, if they were indeed fabricated.

Its been so long, I dont remember the details anyway.
(can you help me with that bro?)

I sure could use a good-luck charm to carry with me.

They wont let me wear my ROMMY on a neck chain around here anymore.
It turns out the criminals in NY felt their right to Rape and Pillage was being infringed upon by legal gun owners.

Ny State wishes to settle out-of-court, to avoid explaining their position
on the matter.
