I am a newbie to Mosins and I am trying to learn how to use the stripper clips. I have some of th Finnish clips and I am not sure how far they should be inserted into the receiver. When I insert the stripper clip it seems to be stopped by the interrupter.
My 91/30 is a re-arsenaled rifle so the interrupter/ejector spring is probably new and very stiff. The interrupter's upper edge that intrudes in the path of the stripper guide seems pretty sharp and effectively stops the stripper from going in any further.
Is that the way it is supposed to be or should I be able to shove the stripper clip past the interrupter?
I like to use stripper clips in my Swedish Mauser and my Springfield 03A3 but they are easy and convenient where as the Mosin Magant strippers seem awkward and difficult.

From all my experience, strippers that work in Mosins are like gold... I don't even bother with them.

Yea, if you find some that work, let us know. I'd love to have some that really worked well or at all. I have three different types and they are all useless.

I bought a case of Hungarian ammo that came on hungarian strippers. I could not get them to work in my M44, and yes, in my carbine, the interupter was the culprit. I would have had to alter the interupter to get them to work, something I didn't want to do to my like new '45 carbine. Plenty of folks told me I was doing something wrong, and they worked great in their Mosin's. I have used strip clips in many rifles, including Mauser's, Springfield's, Enfield's, SKS's, K31's (chargers), as well as mag loading clips for M1 carbine and Ar-15.
The Mosin strip clip is the worst. I sold most of my Hungarian clips, ending up paying for the ammo. I may still have a couple.

I've never had a problem with any mosin strippers. Just use your index fingernail to pull up on the tip of the top round and push down with your thumb. They all slide in just a smooth as silk.

I spent some time polishing and tuning five of the Finnish stripper clips. I opened them up a bit to that the rounds slide more easily and I also opened up the keeper tabs at the ends until they just barely kept the rounds from slipping by. They seem to work perfectly now as long as I lift the tip of the top round as I push down back near the clip. It still ain't no Mauser or Springfield clip.
