View Full Version : 98K Mauser - Best Place to Buy
Thinking about rewarding myself with a 98K or a Nagant Rifle. Where are good places online to get one of the 98k's?

I know it sounds like a cliche but, gunbroker.com would be the place to go for a Mauser 98K depending if you're looking for a specific year/country of origin.
The Mosins on gunbroker are a bit high in price considering you could find them cheaper at a gunshow (hopefully).
If I could toss in a suggestion though. If you're looking for a Mauser or a Mosin; you could opt to go for a Finnish M39. You basically get a rifle thats as accurate or even more so than a Mauser but chambered for the Mosin's 7.62x54R. They cost about the same as a Mauser 98K depending on year and factory. I've heard/read nothing but great things on the Finnish M39.

do the M39 its a mosin thats worth the exrta money.. I got mine from www.gunsnammo.com and since its an antiqe no transfer fees. I have been very impressed with its groups using surplus russian ball. my best group so far has been 1.5 inshes at 100 yards, and 2 were touching. Optimus can vouch for that. you will not be dissapointed.

Yeah, that guy sells on gunbroker also and his M39's are really nice. As with all old surplus rifles, even if unissued, best to check the headspacing.

Bigcromag. Thanks for that info. I have been reading up on these rifles. I really like the more authentic finish on the rifles at gunsammo.com. I think I am going to buy one today. My 12 year old son will love this.
