I'm new to the forum and hope someone could give some advice on removing my FAL barrel from my Imbel reciever.I have the AGI FAL reciever tool and a barrel vice that uses wood block inserts.I've used lead inserts with the wood, leather, tape, even rubber cement, but the barrel still slips.Next is my torch from work!HELP!

Is this a cut receiver? or are you removing the barrel from a whole receiver?

I have a barrel vise with lead inserts.

I coat it with some baby powder and them get the barrel vise as tight as I can and clamp it in the vise.

Put on your AGI receiver wrench and use a 3/4 inch breaker bar and turn the receiver.

It should come loose fairly quickly, but it doesn't hurt to use a 4 foot cheater bar :)

Yeah if you want to just try and unscrew it with the receiver wrench, you are gonna need a bigass breaker bar, and a big vise bolted to a heavy bench! An easier method is to use your Dremel and cut carefully along the cutout for the charging handle. Get as close as you can to the threads, without cutting them. If you watch closely you'll be able to tell when you get close. Then just stick a cold chisel in the back of the cut, knock it with a hammer to break the slot open and you'll be able to screw the stub right off.

EDIT: I just assumed you were talking about a receiver stub on a parts kit. If not, sorry about that. Breaker bar is the way to go, like the other guys already said.
