The CETME never came stock with a wood pistol grip.

The only stock wood grips for the HK91 was actually for the PSG1 and MSG90 rifles. They are wallnut and have a palm shelf.

Some show up periodically.

If you're willing to spend almost $200 on one, there's a PSG-1 walnut grip on the bottom of this page:

Here's another one for about $100. I have to warn you, though, that it's from Florida Gunworks and they have a very bad reputation.

The old G3's had wood grips, not sure about the CETME's, right now there are no regular ones avalible. There is a guy that sells the replica PSG grips that I know, however they are made outside of the US, so it might mess up your parts count.

There is a guy on some of the saiga/ak forums by the name battlerifleg3 that did a couple for me awhile back. He stays back logged but does good work. PM if you need me to track his info down.

There was also a member of the old cetmerifles forum that did awesome work but I can't remember the name right now.

Are you talking about this one?

I'll let you in on my little secret...it's not really wood. I took a plastic PG, and used some model paint (light brown and tan)...started with the light tan color for a base, then brushed on the light brown, making my own wood grain.

Then I sealed it with some birch wood casey true-oil. I then mixed a little true-oil and some oil based wood stain and again made my own wood grain, then a sealed it again with a few coats of clear true-oil, sanding in between. You honestly can't tell it's not wood by looking at it and the BWC is a poly base and is pretty tuff...no chips or wear yet.

You could alway pratice on an extra PG as I think we all have several of them lying around. I can give you the extact colors and types of paints I used if you are interested in trying it.

Thanks.

That last step I mentioned using the mix of oil based wood stain and true oil is the key to giving it some depth. That and the stain mix will give it more color variation on top of the 2 base colors. I just studied the wood grain on the stock and tried to copy it that's all.

It not hard to do at all once you figure out which products work with each other. Like I said I'd practice on a old PG, then in my case I applied it to my US made PG. I'm thinking on doing another for my Century G3 next.

Good to hear about Florida Gunworks. I never bought anything from them because thay're so spendy. But after Centerfire ran out of CETME kits in a panic I almost got some. And lately I've been eyeing those M1-Garand kits. I'm glad I didn't bite. It's hard enough trying not to spend too much, much less giving it up to someone who is gona screw you over.

I've heard nothing but horror stories about FGW's too. I can't believe they are still in bussiness.
