so what do you guys think of the charles daly compact .45?

The Daly pistols used to be made by Armscorp of the Philipines, not sure if they still are or not. The Armscorps(Rock Islands) seem to have a good rep here, I have a Rock Island wide body pistol and am pleased with it. Thus if Armscorp(philipines) is still making the Daly pistols you can use that as kinda of history of the make.

After about 1000 rounds out of a full sized Daly 1911, I can say that IMHO it is one of the best buys out there and you would be hard pressed to build one for what you can get them for. Mine is the enhanced version and I made 3 changes on the pistol which were the fixed sights to adjustable, a good throating job and polish on the feed ramp so it would fee wad cutter better, and a full length guide rod. Out of the box it shot hardball without a glitch. The machine work is very good and the tolerances are tighter than you would expect on a pistol of this price. If you are looking for a good shooter, I recommend this pistol. Besides, it has a lifetime warranty.
